"At least...you
won our last bet"
"Hm? Oh! Oh, yeah... That you'd fall for
me"
She laughed to herself. Natasha had never been fond of bets. Her husband was though.
Joshua had turned out to be a great king, his people loved him. He always came to her if he ever wanted to talk. Natasha would be wandering the castle while he sat in the throne room. There was always something to discover.
Today wasn't so fun. Natasha didn't feel great and didn't feel like walking around, besides she had almost discovered everything about the place. Natasha walked to the throne room and quietly sat next to her husband.
"What brings you to the throne room, dear?" Joshua asked looking at a piece of paper then at her
"I thought you might need some company…I can leave if you want me too" she said getting up a bit
He grabbed her by the arm and smiled. "I could use some…"
They sat there in silence. Natasha started playing around with her hair that was in her face. While sitting there she could see him smiling as if planning something.
"Want to bet?" he asked
"Oh…I guess, but you have already won my heart. What will you bet on now?"
"I bet…our child will be a greater king or queen than me!" he said chuckling at my expression
"Joshua sometimes I don't understand you…even if I am your wife" she said nudging him to stop laughing
"Well…we can always find out!" he said again
"Y-yes…yes we can" she replied
Months after that conversation, Natasha gave birth to a daughter. She resembled her father more than her mother but Natasha didn't seem to care. As the years went by their daughter didn't learn the way of the sword but learned the way of the staff. She started out as a cleric but did not pursue her dream of becoming more than that. She observed her kingdom and the way her father and mother ruled the kingdom. The girl decided to leave the castle and wander the desert with some guards; she wanted to see what the outside world looked like. When she returned which was years later, the previous king had left the duty to his daughter. She took her rightful position and ruled the sandy kingdom.
"I was right wasn't I?" Joshua asked his wife
"Yes you were…you have won yet again…I have lost again" she said sighing
"You won the first bet" he remarked
She smiled. "Yes…yes I did"
"Say…do you want to bet…?"
