Just a little fluff for the Tokka lovers out there. Feel free to bash away in your reviews. I liked it.

Him

Toph didn't hit the ground when she fell. Sokka fell first and she landed on top of him. She inhaled deeply. That was it. That was the smell she dreamt of as she slept. It was like no other smell in the world. She just called that smell him.

There were actually two campfire smells. Most people couldn't tell the difference but since she was blind, her sense of smell was more acute. One was the smell of just the regular campfire; the other had the scent of his precious meat mixed with it. She could almost pick out the different types of wood, but they had mixed together after all this time to become part of him.

Through the thick smell of its leather case, she caught a whiff of the whale bone his boomerang was made from. Only the Water Tribes used whalebone to make weapons, so this scent was hard to find anywhere in the world, other than the poles. The Northern Water Tribe was hidden behind an ice fortress and the Southern Water Tribe, Sokka's tribe, had been whittled to just a handful of people by the Fire Nation. Sokka was the only Water Tribe boy she'd ever met. His were the only whalebones she'd ever smelled. It was definitely part of him.

His sword was made from a meteorite. He called it space earth. Only one other person in the world owned a piece of space earth. It was currently wrapped around her arm in its usual bracelet form. It was a gift from him. She may have a piece of it, but the smell of the unique metal was part of him.

All of this mixed with the smell of his sweat. He'd been practicing with his sword that morning. He worked so hard with it. Even though it was evening now, the scent still lingered. It mixed with all of the other aromas to make the most amazing thing in the world. It made him.

"I thought I was the blind one. Why can't you watch where you're going, Meathead?" Toph stood up and kicked Sokka in the thigh again.

"Ow! Maybe the reason I've tripped four times is because I can't feel anything in my leg. Do you have to kick me every time you fall on top of me?" Sokka rubbed the sore spot on his leg as he stood up.

Toph pointed an accusing finger at Sokka. "That doesn't explain the first time you tripped, you big klutz."

"Fine, you got me there. Let's just go get some firewood. It'll be dark soon."

"Dark? Oh no, what'll we do?" Toph put both hands on her cheeks as she faked fear.

"Sorry." Sokka slumped. He'd made another remark about her blindness.

Toph grinned at his discomfort. To get even she might use her earthbending a fifth time to trip him.

I remember when my sisters were Toph's age. When one had a crush, she did whatever she could to bump into him or run into him. One of them once stole a guy's shirt from the basketball court when his team was skins. She used to just sit in her room and smell his shirt. I figured our favorite earthbender might do something similar. However, Toph is more aggressive than my sister is. Stealing Sokka's shirt just wasn't enough for Toph.
