No, I don't own Scar or Full Metal Alchemist!
This is what I think Scars thinks of.
Faces
He sees their faces at night. When he is lying there waiting for sleep to take him, he sees the faces of the people he's killed. He can see the way they looked at him, some with fear in their eyes and others with hate as he stands before them prepared to send them to Ishbala for judgment. After he kills them, he blocks their face from his mid and continues on his way knowing they will return that night to haunt him.
And when the Alchemist's faces become too much for him, memories of Ishbal flash before his eyes. He sees his friends and family smiling at him and the children dancing around the fires. He remembers when the war first started and how the military attacked them, destroying their homes and ripping family's apart. He hears the screams of his fellow Ishbalians crying for mercy as they are killed by soldiers. He sees the smiles once so present on the children fade as their toys were replaced with guns and their homes were exchanged with hideouts and bunkers.
One scene that will always haunt his mind is when he saw a large group of Ishbalians, mostly the elderly, women and children, crowding around the temple. They were on their knees praying to Ishbala when the military opened fire, he heard the screams as he watched from the rooftop as grenades were thrown into the crowd and exploded sending rubbles and bodies flying. After the explosions ended, the survivors were found and shot.
Similar incidents are burned into his memory banks but Scar just tries to push those images out of his head as he continues on his way. He knows if he dwells on them too much he will have a hard time functioning. Yet what he saw gives him a reason to go on, justice for his people is all that keeps him going at times even if the people he killed haunt him at times, thoughts of his people always chase the faces away.
