Did this FOREVER ago, and now I finally post it. For dub watchers (which, ironically, include me. But the person I made this for likes the original names) Miyako Yolee. Enjoy guys!

The Call
By Netbug009
Something was calling her.
It was something new. Something different. Something that had never truly called to her before. Something she thought she had seen, but now knew she had never even glanced at.
...But what was it? The question had her spending late nights walking in circles around her room. Eventually, it had her walking in circles around her dormitory, much to her roommate's dismay.
"Miyako... it's one in the morning..." the girl groaned one night, pulling her blanket over her head.
But whatever was calling to her was calling louder than her roommate. She continued to stay up late with her thoughts (although more quietly.)
And it didn't stop as she grew even more years from when it had started. Eventually, she paced around her home. By now whatever it was started to become less of a mystery she wanted to solve and more of a parasite she wanted to get rid of.
She stopped. What was this? After all these years she still didn't know. Was it even there anymore, or was she just driving herself insane? Whatever had called her now felt so... dormant. Was it gone? Was it really gone? A mix of emotions swept over her. She felt freed and unsatisfied at the same time.
She felt she needed a walk, and she took it. Part of her searched for the call, part of her was trying to run away from it. She got so distracted she bumped into somebody and fell onto the concrete.
"Sorry!" she said the moment she had landed. "I was distracted and-" She looked up and froze. "...Ken?"
"Miyako?!" Ken blinked in surprise, but soon smiled. "Wow, how long has it been?" He offered a hand. Miyako took it and used it to stand up. Ken's question overtook her brain. He was right. How long had it been? The group seemed to split off after high school. They still kept in touch, but it seemed like it had become less and less. It had to have been at least a year since the last time she had talked to Ken by now. Once she was on her feet, she found herself staring him in the eyes.
...Wait, what was that? What was wrong with her now?
She felt it again. That thing that had been calling to her all these years was calling to her again. It wasn't gone. In fact, she could swear it had gotten even stronger.
Then she finally realized it. It truly was calling stronger, and it seemed to gain more strength every moment she kept staring in his eyes.
"Miyako, are you okay?"
"Huh? What?" She blinked out of her trace and turned slightly red. "Oh, I'm fine. Sorry about that. I guess I took a harder fall than I thought. I'm so clumsy these days."
Ken chuckled. "Hey, you know, seriously, it really has been a while, hasn't it?"
Miyako nodded, still a little frazzled.
"Well, maybe we should get the group together again?" Ken suggested. "We could reconnect with each other! Maybe even go to the digital world again!"
Miyako smiled. "That's a great idea!"
Ken smiled and nodded. "So, could you give me your phone number and we can talk about it later tonight? I have to get some errands done now."
Ken was barely done talking before Miyako had her number written down and in his hand. They both smiled before parting.
As Miyako walked away, what she had realized at their sudden meeting was starting to put its self together in her head. She still didn't understand why she was being called, but now she knew what was calling her, and she wouldn't stop until she answered it.
