Hi guys! I'm really sorry for anyone who is following me, I haven't updated since summer! This story is all about Myra, a fifteen year old from district five, who is fighting for her life in the 65th Hunger Games.

Chapter One:

Jakob

"Happy Hunger Games, and may the odds be ever in your favor! Let the 65th annual Hunger Games begin!" a deep voice spoke those chilling words that began the games, "60... 59..."

All I could do is last minute prayers, since I'm only fifteen. What are my odds, especially against the careers?

"20... 19..." I was thinking into space for 40 seconds? Oh boy!

"3...2...1..." RING!

We all ran, including myself. As I ran away from the blood bath, I had time to notice the scenery of the arena- tall pine trees, with a cool, crisp air that would probably end up being sticky and humid at night. It reminds me of home, in district 5 during early spring.

"Hello, Myra! Time to die!" Gordon, the sixteen year old from my district, pointed his knife right towards my skull. He pushed me, hard, and I fell onto crab grass. As he drew his knife back, I screamed, and all of the sudden, blood splashed out of his chest. He fell onto the ground. A large boom came from the cannon, signaling death.

The boy, or should I say man, from district 10, came over and helped me up.

"Jakob, age eighteen," he held out his hand, "what's your name, sweetheart?"

I held out my hand, "Myra, I'm fifteen."

"You look really hungry, would you like some grapes?" I hesitated, "Don't worry," he popped one into his mouth, "they aren't poisonous!"

Should Myra take the grapes from Jakob, and trust him? Sorry for the short chapter, but... I have to go, so, yea! Bye!
