"Shoot, stupid!" Yelled Inuyasha. Kagome glared at him with a hiss. He rolled his eyes and pushed faster toward the demon, a black, solid shadow. At least, it concealed what was inside. Kagome hated it; she didn't even know why. She just felt like it was bad luck. She began fumbling with her bow and arrow, ready to shoot after a moment. She already sprained her ankle running from it, and then when she fell, she bruised her arm. "Shoot!"
"I will doggy!" She replied. Then she shot the arrow. It glowed blue, then hit the shadow. It shrieked and fell, which was odd for a shadow. "Got it!" she cried. Inuyasha set her down.
"You hurt me, as I will hurt you." said the demon in a low, dangerous voice. It actually swatted Inuyasha aside. Miroku was also thrown. Sango got in one hit, but then it shot her with a tendril of black energy. Slowly, menacingly, it turned to Kagome. She shrieked and began running as fast as she could with her ankle. Shippo watched from a tree, nervous. 'Kagome's hurt! She can't run fast enough!' Yet his magic did nothing to the creature other than disappear.
Kagome pushed harder, wincing and stumbling. 'I can't out run it! I'm hurt, and it's perfectly healthy. Well, except for my arrow.' She thought. Then her foot, the injured ankle, caught on a root. She screamed as pain shot down her leg. Her body hit the ground with a hard thud. 'No! I'm dead now.' But the demon wanted pain. He clawed her arm, earning a gasp and a whimper. Then he clawed her stomach, making her really scream. Slowly, black shadows covered her neck and began choking her. "No... Stop..." she whispered faintly.
"Never. I will hurt me, and now I am hurting you." The creature again replied as it tightened.
A red blur sliced him off Kagome. She stood, gasping, knowing she must reach safety! Shippo came to help her, and they reached a hill. The others fought, but they weren't faring well. It seemed immortal. Only her arrows hurt it. She stood as Shippo went to look closer. Slowly she picked up her bow and arrows, and loaded it with pain. "Must do it." She murmured, to motivate herself. "I will do it. I have to help." She stumbled to the edge of the forest.
With pain pounding, she let go. She wanted to scream at the pain, but she couldn't utter a noise. He'd notice, and she wanted to remain a surprise. The arrow hit him solidly, followed by one more. The creature glared at Kagome as it melted into the ground. "I shall get revenge." It said, without emotion.
"No, not with me around." Kagome said with difficulty. She fell to her knees. "Ow!" She cried as she hit her ankle.
"Idiot! You could've been killed!" Inuyasha yelled as he ran to her.
"KAGOME!" Came Shippo's yell. He ran over, waving frantically. "I can't fine her! And I didn't- Oh, there you are! Why didn't you rest! You're even worse now!" He cried.
Kagome rolled her eyes. "Oh please. I'm alive." Then she remembered her stomach and arm wounds as they screamed in their own pain. "My stomach!" She gasped, clutching it. She wasn't surprised by blood.
"Kagome, that's serious. We need a healer." Sango added with worried eyes.
"I can heal her. I have all the right things." said Miroku with a perverted grin.
"I would rather die." said Kagome with a cold glare. All let out a low chuckle. "I would rather stab my heart, rather jump off a cliff. Better yet, I'd throw you." She added.
"Okay, just relax. Let's get Kaede." Miroku said.
"You go. Someone get me my medical tools for now though." She said.
"I'll stay with her." Inuyasha said as he went to get the supplies. They nodded and took off, leaving a hurt Kagome and worried Inuyasha.
