The More She Tries
The more she tries to convince herself,
The more she's sure that she's wrong.
It doesn't make sense, but...
It's true.
And she's known that all along.
Admitting it was challenging, but
Then again, isn't everything these days?
But she's only admitted it to herself.
To admit it to him...
Well...
That was going to be a bit harder.
She'd have to do it.
But how?
How in the world
Could she tell him that?
It's not just something you say
When you drop off the case files.
"Hey, this guy's got deadly cancer,
And, oh yeah, I love you."
Stares all around.
Gee, I wonder why.
And slipping a note isn't gonna work either.
That's elementary.
And he's gotta be old.
Not old old
But still
So much older than her...
Is it even possible?
Well, regardless
She'll tell him somehow
Because
Guilt is nothing
Compared
To
Misery.
I figured it might be better to leave the A/N for the end...but anyway, REVIEW, please, and tell me what you think! I don't think it came out too badly, but that's probably just because I'm the author...so yeah...bye!
