Time for a Vacation

"Finally the first day of summer" I said to myself as I left the school towards my home. Every year my parents took me to the beech, but… I could tell there would be something different about this one. I gazed at the clouds drifting away overhead and I could feel that this vacation was going to be extraordinary.

As I turned the corner I could see my father had finished packing all the bags. I rushed to him wanting to know how soon we would be leaving. "Ah there you are, ok were all packed up lets get this show on the road." As we drove off I waved goodbye to my friends. I couldn't wait to feel the sand beneath my feet and the ocean water against my skin.

The drive lasted about an hour, but it was worth the wait. "strange… why isn't any one here?" I asked as I glanced out the window. Usually the beach is packed this time of year, but it looked as if it were a ghost town. We looked for signs or people to tell us what had happened, but there wasn't a trace of evidence. "Turn on the radio mom there might be a news show" I urged.

"This is a warning to all citizens along the coast. What we think is a hurricane is headed straight towards that area. We are to evacuate the area immediately" The radio repeated. We started our exit of the area mourning the loss of our much needed vacation.

I glanced out at sea to look and sure enough something was headed this way, although it wasn't a hurricane. It was like a group of storms but they weren't grey like normal storms these were dark violet. Suddenly a helicopter emerged form the cloud and headed toward the beach but it was intercepted by a strange creature. It looked like a seagull but it was the size of a truck. As it dug its claws into the tail the pilot lost control and tried to jump out, but the monster saw its prey trying to escape so it leaped off the helicopter and tackled the man in mid-air. By then we new we had to get out of there and fast.

When I returned view to the road I realized that dad was driving much faster. We were almost to the freeway when A billboard flew over our car. We quickly looked back to see a gigantic fiend following us it was much taller than the sign it through. Now the entrance to the freeway was blocked we knew we'd have to get out of there so we left the car. We ran to an ally near by to try and evade the beast but to no avail. It was climbing over the building and we knew there had to be more than one.

Strangely, As we emerged from the ally there was nothing there. We slowly crept out but a hawk like creature swooped down and carried away mom. I was afraid what would happen to us so I started running again, but I looked back to see dad standing there with shock. I tried to run and get him but as I took 3 steps the large monster jumped off the near building brutally crushing dad. I watched in horror as my mother was being ripped limb from limb and my fathers guts flying everywhere. I knew it would be pointless to run, but it was my only chance of survival. Keeping myself from bursting into tears I sprinted towards the beach to try and find a hotel to hide in.

The birds were to busy to care that I left and the ogre didn't notice my leave and studded off towards the city. I ran into the nearest building knowing that I would be safe… for now. All I had to keep my sanity was watch the ocean's wave devour the sand, but something emerged from the water. It was the monster that devoured the pilot and it noticed me in a split-second. I tried to hide but I could hear it make it's call to the other creatures and together they broke through the window. My body went numb I couldn't move a muscle. I felt every bit of sanity leave my body. All I could do is watch as the creatures approached.
