Again, another nightmare. The ones about that night. I've had them since the night my dad almost killed me in one of his drunken rages. I've been here for about a week. I ran from my house after I killed my father trying to defend my self. The people in my village would never accept me after that happened. But, of course, they wouldn't accept me anyway. I have a demon sealed inside of me, the two-tailed demon cat to be exact. Despite the fact that she can be a bit straightforward, and downright annoying sometimes, she makes for good company when your lonely. Which is exactly what I am right now. I've been out in this desert for about a week, and I'm getting very hungry; Bakeneko even notices. She normally doesn't care for me unless she's bored, or I'm in a dire situation. And I'm getting there. I get up and start to look for plants, or any type of food to ease my hunger.

I've been walking now for about an hour, and it's getting hotter out. I decide to keep walking, and eventually, I come across a tree big enough for shade. "Thank GOD!" I mutter aloud. If only I had some food... And as if God had heard my thought, some food dropped in my lap. I am immediately shocked, and my head snaps up to see who or what dropped it. I see a boy sitting there in the tree. He looks to be my age. There's something about him that... that makes him different than some stranger I might meet somewhere else... His eyes, they are the same as mine. Eyes that have seen death, and possibly caused it. I stand up, and look at him.

"Thank you for the food. Oh, and by the way, my name is Migoto Kurushimi. What's yours?" I say, trying to smile the best I can while trying not to scarf down the food he just gave me. He smiles slightly, and chuckles. I'm confused as why he's laughing.

"What's so funny?", I ask politely, not getting it.

"Well", he says, "your name means "Beautiful Pain", and my name, Subaka no Gaara, means "Demon Who Loves Only Himself", don't you find that funny?"

I'm majorly confused now, and I ask,

"What do you find funny about that?"

He chuckles a bit louder, and says to me,

"Well, my name fits me, because I am, indeed, a demon who only loves himself, and you, well you are some dying brat, who I happen to stumble upon in the desert, and find pity for. You couldn't hurt a fly, let alone earn a name like "Beautiful Pain"."

I look at him with disgust, and say

"Well, Sorry! I don't think it's your choice to judge whether I deserve my name or not! You might have lived up to your name, but maybe I don't want to live up to mine!" I say as I walk off in a huff.

Gaara's merciless, cold eyes widened as I walked off. Apparently, no one had ever spoken to him like that.
