Hey guys, this is just a prologue. Tell me what you think and if you have any suggestions for this story I'd love to hear them.

Prologue

In an old abandoned building in downtown New York there were two young children huddled together against the wall reading from a rather large ancient text book. The title of the book was written in a language that normal people wouldn't be able to read but it was no problem for the two adolescents that were currently engrossed in it. "Who is this?" Asked the older of the two, a young boy named James Copper.

"That's easy! That's Zeus, the youngest son of the Titan lord Kronos." The little blonde haired girl next to him replied matter-of-factly.

James smiled down at her. He was very proud of the amount of knowledge this small girl was able to retain in just two weeks. She had almost memorized every Greek god and goddess there was and tell you all of the ancient 'myths' and 'legends' that go along with them. She was even able to tell him a few of their children and the heroics they had performed.

"That's right," he flipped a coupled of pages away and asked, "What kind of monster is this?"

"That's one of the Erinyes, or a Fury. They work for Hades in the Underworld."
"Very good Grace." He put the giant text aside and fixed the younger girl with a very serious look, "Listen to me. The things I've taught you are extremely important to your survival. You
must remember them and keep them close to your heart, okay?"

Grace nodded vigorously and James grinned at her before reaching into his back pocket and pulling out a small hand knife. "I want you to keep this and I want you to use it when you need to."

"But I don't know how…" She began to protest.

"You'll know when the time is right, trust me." Grace remained silent and inspected the dagger James had given her.

"But where…" she looked up and saw that James had gone and that was the last time she saw him.
