Sam Tyler stood, aghast in terror at the desk. He was grabbing the phone receiver tightly with one hand while he gripped the side of the desk tightly with the other one. Annie happened by and saw this, and saw Sam clenching his jaw. She moved on, casting a worried look.

Sam waited until she was out of earshot, and spat out over the phone. "I. Do. Not. Want. To Leave. This Place. What part of that don't you understand?"

"Oh, Sam Tyler," Sam could hear a smirk in the disembodied voice. "I thought you always wanted to go home."

"I don't anymore," Sam confessed. "I got a lot going for me here. And what do I have over there," He asked, speaking of the future as if it was another plane of existence. "Nothing, absolutely nothing."

"Well you are going back, no exceptions." the phone was hung up.

Sam also hung up, shaken. He didn't have long to let the shock and numbness set it because The Guv shot out of his office. "Tyler, you and Ray ride together. We got a call, there's been another murder."

An hour later Ray was driving, with Sam sitting in the passenger side. Chris wasn't at work; he called in sick earlier that day. Ray was fuming that Chris hadn't of come in. "What a good bout of luck," He said sarcastically as he jerked the steering wheel over to avoid from plowing into a slow car. "Now I'm stuck with you beside me."

'Can we just get on with the case?" Sam asked. "Besides, the quicker we get this done; I am out of your hair." Sam wanted to mutter something about not wanting to be in it in the first place, but her pursed his lips and kept his mouth shut. Ray however was not going to be the one without the last word.

"Speaking of hair," He started to reply, "What's this about your ridiculous-"

Both their worlds were obliterated in a searing white hot flash; they never saw the Lorry that made a turn and wiped out their smaller vehicle. Sam ached in pain, trapped in the totaled car, unable to turn his head and see if Ray was ok. Slowly, Sam blacked out. There were some points when he awakened briefly. The Guv was hovering worriedly over him, and from the looks of it, they were in an Ambulance.

"Don't worry," Gene said, trying to sound reassuring, 'We're getting you to the Hospital." After he said this, Sam passed out again.

Sam awoke later, in a Hospital room. The Guv was sleeping in a chair across from him in a chair. There was another chair and evidence that Annie was there, but left for some reason. Sam's head still hurt slightly, and he could feel cuts all in his skin. It might have been just what he went through, but he swore his body felt a bit heavier, not by much but definitely noticeable by him. The Guy was snoring softly, and the sound of Sam clearing his throat made gene slowly wake up. It took Gene awhile after waking up to realize that Sam was awake. Gene was beaming.

"We thought we lost you!" His voice dropped a tone, a concerned look on his face, "Are you ok?"

"Fine," Sam's voice sounded a bit off too. "Mirror please?" He asked. He wasn't vain. He just hoped whatever he went through, that Ray turned out better than him. The Guv obliged, handed him a very small mirror. When Sam stared into it, his mind froze, unable to process what happened to him.

"Are you ok?" The Guv asked again, "Raymond?" Somehow, Sam's desire to remain where he was and the accident caused him to be stuck inside Ray's Body!

"Oh, boy," Sam replied.
