Gabriella Montez was the biggest thing that ever hit the music world. Every record she produced, more than 3 of the song made it to the top tell of the daily bill-board charts. She was a successful singer, in LA, 21; single, had great friends and everybody admired her.

She kept in contact with a few high school friends like Taylor McKessie who was working as a Biochemist, Sharpay Evans who was her assistant now, Zeke Baylor, Sharpay fiancé and one of LA's best bakers, Kelsi Nielsen who wrote plays for Broadway, and Ryan who starred in Kelsi's shows.

"Hey Sharpay." Gabriella greeted walking though the gate.

"Hey Gabi." Smiled Sharpay as she gave Gabriella her triple coco-fudge ice blended.

Both girls walked towards the car. They had to get to the recording studio to finish up her latest album.

"So… what's new in the world of the fabulous Gabi?" Sharpay laughed.

Letting out a small sigh, Gabriella managed a small nothing.

Sharpay stared at her. Gabriella felt her gaze and looked up to see Sharpay staring at her as if she had three heads.

"What?" asked Gabriella.

"Nothing…" Sharpay replied back simply.

After a moment of silence, Sharpay couldn't take it anymore and asked

"What's wrong?"

Gabriella said nothing for a while until she heard her voice reply for her "Nothing"

Sharpay knew when to push it and when to stop it and now when definitely not the time to push it.

Half way across the country in New York City, Troy Bolton was in the process of making his first new album. He was 22, single and managed to keep in touch with his best-friend, Chad Danforth who played in the NBA for the Knicks and Jason Cross who played in the NBA for the Bulls.

Ring…Ring…Ring…

Picking up his phone, he saw caller ID 'Chad Danforth'. He smiled a little.

"Hey man."

"Hey Troy, you coming to the game tonight right? I mean Jason's gonna be there."

"Ya…sure…" Troy sighed.

"Something wrong?" asked Chad slightly worried for his friends depressing state. The last he sounded this depress was their senior year of high school when he and Gabriella broke-up.

"Nah… Hey, I gotta go…see ya later." Troy said hanging up the phone.

"Later" Chad said to the dead line.

He got up and walked to his producer Mark.

"How it looking?"

"Pretty good, we should have this CD done by tomorrow and out in 3 days." Mark replied.

Looking at the magazine in front of him, he saw Gabriella, his Ex-girlfriend, who he was madly in love with, but it was over. Next to her was the billboard for that week. She had 5 songs in the top 50. Reading down, she was placed number 1, 3, 7, 14 and 36.

She was good and he knew it. This was his only chance of see her again. Competing with Gabriella Montez was gonna get them back together. He had the whole thing planned out… he just hoped it would work.

Btw, Sorry its kinda short but i just got to school and since we moved to a new campus, we got no lockers yet and its all rly sucky! and we got a lot of hw and its not rly fun! not to mention most of my friends left last yr and according to one of my other friends, we only have 5 and a half girls in our class instead of 10. cause we count so ppl as half girls...i kno...were soo mean! and so its been rly sucky!
