OK, nobody sue me for this, I was in a mad fit of anger and sadness when I wrote it. I was on the computer, playing solitare, and wondering why anyone would be "Just a Memory Away", like the song says. I thought about that for a while, and finally drew my mind around to either someone moving or dying. Moving didn't make a good fanfic, so therefore, you get the idea. Don't flame me, just try to be happy after reading it. I hate myself for it, too, so shut up.
Sailor Moon stared around. She had won the battle; defeated the last of the Negaverse. But one thing made it all seem like the Negaverse should've stayed. Like the Scouts would've been better off surrendering. Sailor Moon walked sadly up to Sailor Jupiter, a tear hitting the ground and about 5 more trickling down her cheeks. She kneeled down, and whispered sadly, "I'm sorry, Lita." Sailor Jupiter had accidentally electricuted herself along with the enemy, and haad wound up taking her life, not his. Sailor Moon stood up, and moved on to Sailor Venus. Sailor Venus had been protecting her, Sailor Moon, when the battle got really gory. She had been mowed down in the making. Serena looked into her now-gray face and sobbed, "Sorry, Sailor V. Your fame will carry on, I promise." Sailor Mars was Serena's next stop. She had caused a chain-reaction when the enemy haad sent out an apparently flame-retardent helper and had burnt herself to death. Serena stifled a sob and whispered, "Sorry, Rei, I never really gave you a chance...." Lastly, Serena stopped at Sailor Mercury. She was dark now, and had been killed when she had been trying to analize the enemy so the Scouts would win. "Ami, you died a brillant girl," Serena sobbed. "I'm all alone now," she said to no one. "Don't let it getcha down!" a familar voice chirped. "Lita?!" Serena turned to see her 4 friend's ghosts standing behind her, all looking perfectly healthy and happy. "We don't want you to think we're totally gone! We still are around, at least in your heart," Mina said happily. "Yeah, Meatballhead, don't let it get you caught in sorrow!" Rei said, slapping her on the back, but her hand going straight trough her. The 4 ghosts put their hands together and looked expectantly at Serena. She, too, put her hand in. "Friends forever?" Ami asked. "Friends forever!!!" the others all chanted in unison. "And remember, we're happy where we are now!" Mina said, smiling. Then the ghosts started to disappear. "Remember Serena--" Ami started. "We will always be around," Mina said. "As long as you remember us," Rei said, winking. "We're only a memory away," Lita said matter-of-factly. With that, the 4 images disappeared. "I promise: I will always remember you," Serena whispered. Luna and Artemis walked slowly up, and gasped at the scene. "Don't worry, my dear Moon-kitties!" Serena chirped, smiling and making the two cats cock eyebrows. "They're only a memory away!"
