Morning Sunlight

Morning sunlight trailed through the curtains in the large bay window. Across the room, Sara lay in Nick's arms, her breathing even and steady. Her head rested on his bare shoulder. Her nightgown rested on the floor, and Nick's boxers lay forgotten also. Slowly waking up, Nick shifted so his face was next to Sara's, and brought his lips to hers. Sara' s eyes opened, and she tiredly smiled. " Good morning? Did you sleep well?" He teased. "Well, considering the fact that we weren't exactly sleeping, it was pretty good." She jokingly replied. The orbs that were her brown eyes never ceased to amaze Nick, even though they had been married for 4 1/2 years. Staring into the pools of brown, he captured her lips in a gentle kiss. The kiss deepened, but suddenly Sara pulled away. " Did you hear something?" She asked. "Nope." "Oh well. Where were we?" Sara snuggled closer to Nick, basking in the warmth that had given her comfort for so long. He kissed her shoulder and nipped her earlobe. This made Sara squeal. Chuckling, Nick started to tickle her in the one spot she was ticklish. This made her squeal even more. Suddenly A giggle emitted from the end of the bed. 3 heads of brown hair and 3 pairs of brown eyes stared at them. " Hi mommy. Hi daddy." This greeting eminated from Trevor, the oldest at 4." Um... hey scout. Why are you awake this early? Its Saturday." Nick stammered. " I don't know." Was his reply. " Well, since you probably don't want to go back to sleep, why don't you take Zach and Katelyn to the living room and watch some cartoons, ok?" This was the best Nick could think of on such short notice. " Okay daddy." With this, he left their bedroom, with Zach and Katelyn trailing behind him. Zach was the middle child, at 2 3/4 and Katelyn was the baby, at 1 1/2. These were Nick and Sara's babies, and their pride and joy. Also a little bit spoiled, courtesy of Grissom and Catherine, who had gotten married about 4 months before. It had taken Grissom along time to figure out he and Cath were perfect together, but Warrick so generously pointed out the fact that it was better late than never. Sara turned to Nick. " We really need to be more careful." She said smiling. Laying on the bed, she traced lazy circles on his chest. " Whatever you say, babe." He replied in that Texis twang that always made Sara happy he had chosen her to love and care about. She quickly got dressed and left to go feed breakfast to the hungry horde that were her children and babies.
