Prologue
A breeze ruffled the pine trees as three shadows emerged from the darkness of night. A beam of moonlight from the large silvery disk floating in the sky, filtered through the trees reviling the faces of the three shadows. The largest was a dark gray alpha male wolf, his hard eyes a dark amber. The next was a slightly smaller brown male, his ice blue eyes emotionless. The last wolf was a slender female, her pelt a dark crimson with black markings. The three wolves padded over the soft pin needles till they reached the center of the trees. The largest wolf shifted into a large man with a grim face as the other's changed into their own forms. The younger male shifted into aboy who was at the most fifteen with dark black hair and eyes that were so bark they were nearly black. The female shifted into a young with red hair and soft amber eyes.
"You've got a little something here," the girl said teasingly motioning to the younger boys mouth where there was a tuft of rabbit fur. The boy rolled his eyes and ran his arm over his mouth.
"Stay focused," the man growled crossing his arms, "they're getting close."
The pine's across from them shook as three more shadows entered the area. The lead man dipped his head in greetings, "Glad you could come, Bane Roaring-Predator."
The man nodded, "Same to you Colin Lone-Wolf."
Colin sneered looking over at the other two wolves accompanying Bane till his eyes landed on the girl, "I see you've brought that lowly scout of yours. What is it again, oh I remember Hermione Small-Paw."
"Hunting-Paw," she corrected frowning.
"Whatever," Colin chuckled, "let's get on with this, we don't have all night."
Bane nodded, "Then lets begin the negotiation."
"First thing we want is a tenth of your lands. We also demand a fifth of your yearly catches," Colin said smirking.
"Never!" the younger male exclaimed.
"Bite your tongue Gawain Vengeful-Bear," Bane demanded thinking it over his eyes hard, "we will never give you those things, we have to feed our own pack not yours."
"That is the only way we will give you peace, we will give you till the full moon to think our offer over," Colin said smirking as him and his group faded into the, shadows leaving Bane and his group alone.
"You can't really be thinking about giving those cowards our hunting grounds," Gawain growled.
"I'm not," Bane answered.
"But, they out number our pack by more than you can count," Hermione protested.
"Silence," Bane told her strictly, "we will never back down from any challenge."
Hermione looked down brushing a strand of her dark red hair from her eyes, "Of course sir."
"Let's get moving," Bane growled shifting back to his large wolf shape. Gawain followed his leader's actions and shifted into his own shape before following him. Hermione watched them go as she crossed her arms over her chest. She pushed some of the pine needles with her boot, images of her friends crying out in pain as Colin's pack attacked their own, the omega's be picked off one after another. She looked up at the shadow's around her suddenly seemed darkerscents of many small animals wiped around her and into her nose. Her amber eyes shifted around cautiously as she shifted into her own wolf shape and disappeared into the shadows
