The Forgotten
Slytherins are Evil.
Hufflepuffs are Weak.
That's the general consensus anyway. They've forgotten about those of us who are quietly sitting in the background listening to the insults directed at our House. I'm Slytherin and everyone thinks that means I'm evil. Our tables constantly "pranked" by someone or other. I'm constantly glared at as I walk down the hall because of the robes I wear. I remember trying to make friends early on in those first Hogwarts days. I tried to be friendly but all my efforts were snubbed and rebuffed. I'm a Snake and that means I'm evil and sneaky. It's not just the students that do it it's also the teacher. I remember my first year at Hogwarts when we'd thought Slytherin had won the House cup. I was so proud of all the points I'd earned and how well we'd did. I had even wrote my family to tell them the good news. I arrived at the feast to find it all decked out in silver and green and I had been proud, I'd been part of this. Then the Headmaster had stood up and awarded the 'last minute points' to those Gyffindors and had changed the victory banner to that of the popular house. So because the Gyffindors broke the rules and did what the Headmaster had specifically told us all not to do they were awarded? I had been heartbroken, I had to explain to my family a few days later that we hadn't actually won the House cup. It had been disappointing and embarrassing…
I'm Hufflepuff and people think I'm weak. The Hufflepuff house is the house no one wants to be sorted into. You know it's true, the picture you have of a Hufflepuff is of a chubby smiling faced child. The picture you've painted is probably of us being frightened little creatures. Even when we had one of our own, Cedric Diggory, be elected Tri-Wizard Champion our image still wasn't broken. We still weren't thought of as worthy. Being a Hufflepuff means being loyal and helpful, but it also means so much more than that. In the Battle of Hogwarts I was there too fighting off death eaters left and right. But no one recognizes my house they all think it was a bunch of Gyffindors leading the fight. It was me that fought bravely. I was there too. But my story's been forgotten…
