A/N: This is not a part of the 'Tales of the Morningstar' series.
And well, this makes no sense at all!
Alright, I'll explain.
First, I DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANDSES HAVE ANY IDEA OF HOW TO WRITE POETRY! Second, the reason I posted this is because I hope to get some sleep now that I have this out of my head! Third, good luck finding a rhythm in this bowl of smoosh (is that a word?) 'cuz I had a hard time doin' that. Fourth, I made this thing under an hour ago, so don't except something grand, aight?
My heart is weary, broken, and torn
split in two
for the choice I need to make
is a choice that will break
the hearts of my kin
Oh, how my heart grieves for the time
when Teleri bows
broke
and Ñoldorin swords
shattered
Daro a maetho, I heard
Delio a drego, they said
My heart is heavy, grieving and saddened
divided in parts
for the choice I did make
were a choice that broke
the hearts of my kin
Oh, how my heart grieves for the time,
when Teleri bodies
sank
and Ñoldorin bodies
burned
Savo hîdh nen gurth, I grieved
Nínion an gwannad dhîn, they weeped
My father
my mother
myself
like my heart
grieving
for the loss of the lives that we could naught save,
for the battle by the shores we could not prevent,
and the water and fire which became their grave,
my heart bleeds whilst I sing this lament
Elven translations:
Daro a maetho - Stay and fight
Delio a drego - Hide and flee
Savo hîdh nen gurth - Have peace in death
Nínion an gwannad dhîn - I mourn your passing
GOOD FREAKIN' NIGHT, EVERYBODY!
