Title: Bon Appétit
Summary: Something seems suspicious and Coco decides to walk-in on Grimm!Velvet. AU

It was no wonder that Velvet didn't seem to have an appetite. She actually does but what she consumes wasn't necessarily something a person would eat. Or could.
After talking with her friends about what happened, they agreed to meet up tomorrow to find out what Velvet ate.
Coco held onto Velvet. It seemed that the comfort would be for Velvet but Coco wanted to assure herself. She runs her fingers through those white locks and knows she'll never get used to them. Coco eventually pauses her fingers when they brush against soft but pale skin. Just below her sight, Coco can see those red eyes peering at her. Simply staring.
Coco offers a tired smile.
"It's okay, Velvet. It's okay."
As much the leader despises the situation, it was one of those days where Coco would leave Velvet. Alone. Before she would step out, Coco would make sure that everything was set: some food left out for Velvet, TV was showing friendly content, and every window were closed and locked. However, Coco would leave all but the front door unlocked. She trusts Velvet not to do anything drastic while she was gone. Coco could honestly say that Velvet doesn't really do much when left alone.
Looking around the house one last check, Coco decides it's time to go. She approaches Velvet and gives her a peck on the forehead.
"Not a kiss on the lips?" Velvet pouts.
"Just feeling a bit shy today."
"Coco Adel is shy? That must be a lie!"
"You're right. It's because you, Velvet Scarlatina, are too precious for this world."
Velvet opens her mouth but Coco seals it with her own.
"… I'm leaving. Take care and be good Velvet. Okay?"
It was practically pointless to ask Velvet as of late but Coco wanted to give Velvet a choice. She doesn't plan to treat Velvet any less. Even if she is a Grimm now.
Like usual, the mere response was a blink and Coco took that as her cue to officially leave.
This may be a routine but Coco eventually noticed something that she didn't. Velvet would watch her and the gaze seemed intense. As though to make sure she actually left.
Coco wanted to shake her head by the time she completely closed the door. She must be stressed; however, Coco thinks for a moment and leaves.
Instead of taking her time, Coco returned early. She uses her technique for a certain rabbit to not get caught (despite that unfortunate day, it hasn't changed). Coco opens the front door and slips into the house.
It doesn't take anymore steps as she reaches the designated door. The room Coco had left Velvet in. She wants to let out a huge breath but holds it in and silently grabs the doorknob.
Coco opens the door and the first thing that caught her eyes was that the window was wide open. Velvet was leaning on the arm rest, facing the window. What quickly catches Coco's attention then was the abnormal dark cloud being drawn through the window.
Most importantly, what was bringing it in.
Velvet was…
No…
Coco could only stare in disbelief.
Either Coco had spoken her thought aloud or the other eventually sensed her presence; because Velvet stops her feast. The mysterious mist vanishes into thin air. She turns to face her former team leader.
The Faunus' gaze appears calm, not caring that Coco saw.
