A/N: A tiny piece based on an idea I came up long ago. I wish it was longer, but it came out like this.
Disclaimer: Still own nothing of Inuyasha.
Worth Dying For
"I came for my sword."
"It isn't ready yet."
"What do you mean it isn't ready? This Sesshomaru gets what he wants and when he wants it. You said it would be ready in two weeks. Your time is up, Totosai."
"But there are… complications."
"What complications?"
"Well, with the materials and the sword itself…"
"What can be wrong with the materials? I gave you quite enough."
"Nobody has requested to make a sword from a feather," Totosai grunted.
"It wasn't an ordinary feather and you know it. I gave you one of my poisonous claws. It must have been enough for you."
"But why do you even need another sword, Sesshomaru? You have two very powerful swords already."
"It is none of your business. Especially if you can't even do your job properly. Where is it?"
"If you insist…"
"I do insist, you old fool," Sesshomaru barked, entering the cave without waiting for Totosai to welcome him in.
He saw it instantly – a short sword, more like a heavy dagger, with a red stone crowing its hilt. The dagger was squirming wildly under the metal chains that bond it to the working table.
"Why is it chained?"
"The moment I started working on it, it began to struggle and fly around. It was the only way to somehow put it into place."
'Craves for freedom, just as she did.'
Totosai knew Sesshomaru for a long time, since his birth actually. That's why he was really surprised when Sesshomaru ordered to make a sword from two feathers, a fan and his claw. Totosai knew for certain that those items except for the claw belonged to the deceased wind youkai Kagura. So what Lord Sesshomaru was to do with her?
The almost tender touch to the dagger couldn't be made by Sesshomaru whom Totosai knew. The dagger stilled under Sesshomaru's fingers. As if his was caressing it, as if the dagger was alive… Totosai was awestruck.
"Don't use violence against it," Sesshomaru uttered evenly, breaking the chains. "I will come in a week. It must be ready by then. We are close."
A week later Sesshomaru received his dagger. It was elegantly fatal and light as a feather. Sesshomaru hid it beside his heart. When Jaken warned him about the dangerous placing of such poisonous weapon, he only said that it would never hurt him.
……………..
The battle was in full swing and Naraku certainly wasn't winning. He was already pushed to the brick of his powers. He was lying onto the ground, trying to catch his breath. Inuyasha readied his sword to make the final strike, but Sesshomaru stopped him. He neared Naraku and sat down next to him.
"Came to gloat, the almighty Lord Sesshomaru?" Naraku choked out.
"I came to kill you, as I was asked to do several times, but foolishly declined. A certain death was needed for me to realize that not all of us can be strong and the powerful ones must help the weak ones. But she wasn't weak. She had enough strength to stand up to you, to survive all your torture, to betray you, to sacrifice her life to save others'. She didn't die for nothing. All she wanted to was to kill you and she will do it. Kagura will have her revenge," Sesshomaru finished with stabbing the dagger right into Naraku's heart. "Heart for a heart, life for a life."
A/N: Actually this is the smallest thing I've written. It isn't even 1000 words, but I said everything I wanted. I know that nobody will probably review it, but a girl can dream, right?
