Jason always thought it was Reyna's fault. That is, until she left.

Reyna was amazing. Jason had seen her face down armies of monsters and not even bat an eye. Reyna had seen friends killed in battle. She'd had to dole out her fair share of harsh punishments to friends she didn't want to hurt. Somehow, she managed to do just that, and the only person who knew how much it hurt her was Jason.
It's unnerving

Jason could never be like Reyna. He could never give friends punishments like being thrown in the Little Tiber, even if they deserved it. Jason was far too trusting. Reyna, on the other hand, always knew just who to trust and who not to. Jason made so many mistakes trusting the wrong people, he was surprised Reyna didn't leave him.
I'm not saying there wasn't nothing wrong

I'm now saying we ever had the right to hold on
I just didn't wanna let it get away from me
They'd have their small disagreements at times, but they were about little things, like where to build the aqueduct. In the end though, they would always agree and laugh about how stupid they had been. They both thought they loved each other. Then, when they were fighting about little things, Reyna would now storm off. She acted like she didn't like him anymore. Jason always thought Reyna loved him. But then again, their relationship probably would never had happened unless they were both praetors. They really would never had thought they loved each other. Jason really did think he loved Reyna, though, and struggled to hold on to their fragmented relationship.

Finally, Reyna broke up with him. It seemed pretty out of the blue to Jason, but not to Reyna. Jason got mad, he thought Reyna needed him. She needed him to be there for her, at least that's what he thought. She needed him, and she left him. He knew she would come back crawling on her knees for his forgiveness.
It's aggravating

Jason was angry at Reyna. She needed him and then, she left him. She had needed him and then, she thought she didn't. Jason knew she'd be back.

Jason knew they had their issues but he never expected Reyna to take it seriously. Jason didn't think Reyna would leave him, but it is a Venus decrees. Jason knew, but he didn't want to believe.

Jason still couldn't understand how Reyna left him. She needed him. "We'll see who's sorry," Jason had said. Reyna depended on him, and now, she was leaving him.

It took a while to sink in, Reyna left him. She hardly talked to him anymore, which was saying a lot because they had to work together. Jason figured it was because she was trying to decide how to apologize to him.

Reyna had told him it's over, but he didn't believe her. She depended on him.

Reyna never came crawling back. She had made up her mind. In the end, it was Jason who needed Reyna, but it was too late. He was lucky he got a second chance at love with Piper. He was lucky his personality changed slightly when his memories were taken because Reyna was never going to take him back. She deserved better.
