Task: Write about a canon Death Eater making a love confession!

Lucius Malfoy stood straight. He was a Malfoy and Malfoy never stooped. They were always calm and strong.

However, his fast beating heart, his sweating hands and the beads of perspiration on his forehead told a different tale.

He kept looking at the door of the Slytherin Common Room. It was dark and dull there, but for him, t was bright. The scowling faces of his fellow house members looked like smiles. The mermaid tat often swam above their common room all looked beautiful to him.

What was wrong with him?

Lucius, from a very young age had learned etiquettes and ways of the Pureblood society. However, they had never taught him about love.

Love. It was such a strange word. Love was weakness! Love was a burden.

Love. It was also the strength. It was the freedom he needed and it was the only thing that was allowing him to stand straight.

The door opened and a young Black walked in, her hands tightly on her side. She was laughing at something Avery had said. She looked so beautiful when she laughed. Her hair seemed to glow. She had black hair originally, but when she had found out she was betrothed to Malfoy, she had dyed her hair blonde. It was a joke but then, it had struck.

Lucius shook his head. He did not have time for thinking.

"Narcissa."

Narcissa turned around to see Lucius.

"Yes?"

Merlin, her voice…

"We need to talk." Lucius said.

Narcissa raised an eyebrow.

"Why exactly?" Avery demanded. Lucius scowled.

"I do not remember taking your permission the last time I talked to me betrothed!"

Narcissa smiled lightly. Patting Avery on her arm, Narcissa walked up to Lucius.

Lucius turned and proceed to walk up to his dorm. He felt Narcissa follow.

As they reached his dorm room, he closed his door in a haste.

"So?" Narcissa's voice was filled with so much pride that it made Lucius weak in his knees.

"I love you." He blurted out.

Narcissa was silent. Lucius cursed himself. He had messed up! It wasn't supposed to be this way!

"I know." She finally said.

"No, not like that Narcissa." Lucius said, slowly the mask slipping from his face. "I love you. You are the only thing I really want. I thought I was marrying you because I had to fulfill my duties to the house of Malfoy but ever since we have been betrothed I have felt this, this pain in my heart. I know this sounds really stupid but…"

He was promptly cut as Narcissa's lips met hers. Lucius' eyes widened. This was the first time they were kissing and it was beautiful.

He felt himself melt under the gentleness with which she was holding on to his neck. He pulled her closer and allowed himself to become lost in the sensation. The feeling, the secret that he had in himself was finally going away.

As they finally pulled apart, Lucius was breathing heavily.

Narcissa smiled. Pulling herself away, she looked at him and said, "I know."

With those two words, she walked out of his dorm room, leaving Lucius confused and happy at the same time.
