Mickey and Jack were sitting in the DCI's office either side of the desk drinking brandy
'Well do u still like her???' Jack sipped his glass
'I do yeah, but I like someone else... from the station...' Mickey continued, his eyes dodging those of his boss.
' Oh Mickey,' he sighed, ' when will you ever learn? Go on then, who is it?'
a long pause
'Kezia...'
The room stood quiet for a long time afterwards. Their eyes met.
' Well what you gonna tell Mia, I mean, you're supposed to be trying again with her! She works with her! You both do!'
'I Know, but I can't help the way I feel Jack,I really really like Mia, bla bla bla but I love Kezia!, What am I gonna do?'
The eyes from outside the room backed away from the ajar door, into the complete darkness of the shadowed corridor. They had heard every word of the conversation. They had always told Mickey 'Close the door when your talking, you never know who could be listening,' but they never expexted to hear what they had just heard, not in a million years. That conversation. That confession.
The conversation continued inside the room, but he didn't want to hear anymore. His heart ached.
' But so do I, Mickey!'
