Compass

If Cameron had an insane moral compass then House was an intensely strong magnet that stood beside her and steered her course until she took that next step on her trail to find that there was nothing to support her, the very ground shook and shifted beneath her feet in his wake until she fell into nothing and had to pick herself up once more.

She hoped that it would make her stronger. That picking up the pieces and picking up herself after every fall to look him defiantly in the eyes once more would make her a stronger person.

Instead she became lost.

Lost in those eyes.

She could barely remember where she started, where she was going to or why she was going there. She ached; mind and soul, the weight of all those scrapes and scars a heavy burden but always she moved on bending to the will of him, the magnet that directed her compass, stronger than the pull of the Earth.

Lost, aching, broken and blind she kept of following where he led, hoping she'd last the course.
