It was just a regular day in the guild for Lisanna when she saw Natsu and Happy chatting away excitedly at their table. Curious, Lisanna walked over to their table to see what was going on.
'What are you two so excited about?' she asked, sitting down at their table.
'Oh, Lisanna!' Natsu seemed happy that she was there which made her blush a little, 'We're going fishing tomorrow, would you like to come?'
'Okay!' she said straight away. It'd been so long since all three of them had hung out together.
'Cool. We'll meet at the usual place at around 1:00pm, is that okay?' he asked smiling.
'Yes,' she replied, smiling back.
The next day Lisanna was waiting for Natsu by the lake. She hadn't been waiting for long when a figure appeared in the distance waving, 'Lisanna.'
She waved back at Natsu and as he came closer she saw that Happy was not with him.
'Where's Happy,' she asked.
'Ah, he has his own thing to do today,' he answered.
'Oh,' Lisanna was a bit happy about this because she got to spend time with Natsu alone. She pointed towards the lake, 'Shall we go then?'
He smiled, blushing slightly, 'Sure!'
As Natsu and fished Lisanna sat with them, behind Natsu and relaxed, 'It's been so long since we've done this.'
'It sure has,' Natsu agreed.
Lisanna fell back, pressing her back against Natsu's, 'Hey, Natsu?'
'Yeah?' Natsu was blushing a lot at the contact.
'I love you. I've always loved you. You have no idea how painful it was to be away from you all those years. There's never been anyone else but you, Natsu,' Lisanna smiled, 'I don't know if you love me the same way I love you but for now, just spending time with you like this is enough.'
Natsu didn't say anything and turned around causing Lisanna to turn around as well and pushed her down, just inches above her lips, 'Lisanna, I love you too,' he pulled her up into a hug, 'I want to be with you forever.'
Lisanna pulled back a little bit to see his face, red from the embarrassment, 'Natsu…'
He kissed her then and didn't pull back until he needed to breathe, 'Lisanna…' was all he needed to say as they smiled at each other before breaking apart as she fell back onto the grass and he lied down next to her.
'I'm so happy right now, Natsu,' Lisanna said, closing her eyes as she smiled, 'I wish we could just lie here forever without a care in the world.'
'I feel that way too, Lisanna,' he said, 'I don't care wherever we are, as long as I have you.'
And just like that, they lay there for the rest of the afternoon, forgetting about the fishing rod that had fallen into the water. And every year after that they would make the annual trip to that lake, the lake of beginnings.
At first I had Happy in on the fishing trip but then I was like, 'Wait, Lisanna wouldn't say all this with Happy there. How can I get rid of him...' and originally Natsu was going to call Lucy and tell her about his plans and she was gonna tease him because he was going on a date with Lisanna and, in my world, Lucy knows about Natsu's love for Lisanna and she's cool with it 'cause she's got someone she likes herself but I scrapped that because I didn't really think having Lucy in a NaLi fanfic was a good idea.
