Francoise took a sip of her hot cocoa as she went over some paperwork. In theory, she wasn't supposed to be at work today, since Chang's restaurant was closed for Christmas. However, what meant 'closed' for most business owners apparently meant 'do the work we usually can't because there are customers to take care of' in Chang Changku's dictionary.

Although… she didn't really mind. She'd already had breakfast with her friends, and the restaurant was surprisingly cozy with no one to wait upon. And Chang had made sure that there was more than enough cocoa to keep her going, so all in all, it was a pleasant was to spend Christmas.

"I swear, if Chang makes me go halfway across town for another ingredient that he just has to have…" Joe leaned against the doorway as he tried to catch his breath. He smiled weakly at her. "Oh. Merry Christmas, Francoise."

"Merry Christmas, Joe," Francoise said, hoping he didn't pick up on the hint of bemusement in her tone. She poured him a mug of cocoa. "Here. Take a chocolate break before Chang sends you out into the cold again."

As he grabbed the mug and downed it gratefully, Francoise was once again reminded that a Christmas spent on the job could be pleasant. Especially since she had everything she needed here at work.
