Marcus loves Grace, Grace loves Heath, but Heath's into Marcus... confusion results! Written for a fill-in for a lonely Tuesday afternoon. Inspired by "Mine Mia" by StevieWolfe and a Home & Away fanfic, "A Second Chance at love" by funkyshaz57. The H&A one is a hell of a slash fic, anyone into that, I suggest you check it out.
DISCLAIMER: I do not own any rights to "McLeod's Daughters", any of its characters, or any part of it.
Set in S7.
His thoughts zipped around his mind like sparrows on ice. "How did we get here?" Marcus looked at a picture of Grace and himself, taken just before Baggins died. He picked it up, and threw it at the wall.
The picture frame rebounded and smacked him in the head. He cursed Heath, cursed life in general. Riley, standing outside, heard every word. His ears began to burn, and he quickly walked away before he was seen. But Riley knew his boss' anguish.
She loved Heath. Not Marcus.
Grace sat in the kitchen, drinking her cup of tea. The hot liquid did little to sooth her inner turmoil. She sat back in the chair, torn between two men. Marcus, who was obviously into her, and Heath, who couldn't care less. But Heath intrigued her more; he was the one she dreamed about, night after night. But he wasn't interested.
Stevie knew Grace was in the kitchen. It's where she sat, night after night. She knew why.
-FLASHBACK-
"Did your feelings for Alex ever frighten you?"
"No-one ever said it was easy."
-END FLASHBACK-
Marcus was her best friend. She didn't want to ruin their relationship.
Heath lay back on his bed, his mind relaxed as he thought of Marcus. His tall, lightly tanned body... Heath couldn't care less about Grace. She was pretty obvious about her feelings for him, which surprised him. Ever since he had met Marcus, he knew the attraction had been there. Sure, Marcus didn't see it, but Heath knew he would. One day.
The triangle of their lives was confusing. Marcus, Heath, Grace, Heath, Marcus, Grace... it was like hell on earth. Heath sighed and closed his eyes. There was no easy fix for this.
This is a ONESHOT! Time for some shameless advertising. Check out another of my fics, "Transcended". Songfics are rife in there, of course, but it's a darn sight better than this... whoops.
Thanks for reading!
