Prologue
Qui-gon Jinn immediately attacked, driving Darth Maul to the edge of the shaft. However, Maul managed to regain the offensive. In the confined space around the shaft, Jinn was unable to adequately counter-attack, and Maul eventually hit the Jedi Master in the face with his weapon's long hilt, stunning Jinn; Maul then quickly impaled Jinn through the abdomen.
"Nooooooo!"
Obi-wan Kenobi shouted as the lethal sithlord gutted Jinn (Obi-wans master) while Obi-wan helplessly watched behind the laser wall.
Turning to Kenobi, Maul awaited the laser-wall's deactivation. As soon as it did, the Jedi Padawan viciously attacked, momentarily catching Maul off guard, even managing to sever Maul's weapon in two. Discarding the non-functional lesser half of his weapon, Maul unleashed a flurry of his own attacks, driving Kenobi back. Eventually, Maul pushed Obi-Wan into the exhaust shaft. As Kenobi grasped hold of an input nozzle, Maul kicked the Jedi Padawan's lightsaber into the shaft.
Obi-wan remembered that his masters' lightsaber was left on the floor above him, knowing this Obi-wan surprised Maul by jumping up, summoning his masters lightsaber towards him and cutting the sithlord in half. As the sithlords body fell down the
exhaust shaft, Obi-wan ran over to Qui-gon to hear his last words. Obi-wan rested his head on his lap and Jinn spoke in a weak voice
"It's. It's too late... Promise me, you will train the boy."
"Yes. Yes I will."Obi-wan replied with a tear creeping down his cheek. Qui-gons eyes shut and he faded away...
As the day went on Qui-gons funeral was held. They cremated him in the honourable Jedi way. Kenobi, Palpatine and most of the Jedi council attended. During the funeral master Yoda and Mace Windu discussed of what to do now that the Sith were involved and finally agreed it must have been the apprentice that was defeated and the master still roaming the galaxy. Soon Naboo held a big celebration and parade to congratulate the Gungans, Jedi and Anakin Skywalker for helping in Naboos victory over the trade federation and now having peace between the Gungans and the Naboo. Obi-wan had consulted with master Yoda; Anakin was now his Padawan learner.
