Matchmaker
Love-a-Lot Bear was cleaning the cloud cars. Just then, Tenderheart Bear rushed over.
"We need to help two best friends on Earth named Paul and Paula," Tenderheart said.
"Then let's go," Love-a-Lot Bear declared.
Tenderheart and Love-a-Lot got into one of the cloud cars. Then they took off.
In the park, Paula Phones was hanging out with her best friend Paul Trees. Since their moms had been best friends since before they were born 12 years ago, Paula and Paul had known each other their whole lives.
Just then, a cloud car with two bears landed on the ground and the cloud car disappeared. One bear was brown with a big heart on the tummy while the other bear was pink and had two hearts on the tummy.
"Who are you?" Paula asked.
"I'm Tenderheart," the brown bear replied.
"I'm Love-a-Lot," the pink bear said.
"Nice to meet you, Tenderheart and Love-a-Lot," Paul said.
"I'm Paula," Paula said.
"I'm Paul," Paul said.
"Paula, want to go for a walk?" Love-a-Lot asked.
"Sure, Love-a-Lot," Paula said and then she and Love-a-Lot walked away.
"Everything all right with you and Paula?" Tenderheart asked.
"I think I'm falling for her but I don't know if she feels the same way," Paul replied.
"Have you tried talking to her about it?"
"I'm too scared."
"What are you scared of?"
"That Paula isn't interested in me as more than a friend."
Paula was walking with Love-a-Lot. Eventually, the two of them came across a bench and sat down.
"What's going on between you and Paul?" Love-a-Lot asked.
"I want Paul to ask me to be his girlfriend but he hasn't done so," Paula said.
"Do you like him that way?"
"I think I do."
"Have you told Paul how you feel?"
"I'm too scared that he might not feel the same way."
"Would you excuse me for a bit?"
"Sure."
Love-a-Lot got of the bench and walked away. A couple minutes later, she came across Tenderheart.
"Paul can't bring himself to tell Paula that he's interested in her as more than a friend," Tenderheart said.
"It's the same with Paula," Love-a-Lot said.
"How about I talk to Paula and you talk to Paul?"
"We can try that."
Tenderheart and Love-a-Lot shook hands. Then they both continued in the direction they were going.
Tenderheart was talking with Paula. Just then, Love-a-Lot and Paul walked over.
"Paula, there's something I want to ask you," Paul said.
"All right," Paula said. "What do you want to ask me?"
"Paula, would you be my girlfriend?"
"Yes, Paul, I would love to be your girlfriend."
Paula and Paul kissed on the lips. Then they wrapped their arms around each other and continued kissing.
"I'm glad everything worked out," Love-a-Lot said."We've helped patch up friendships in the past but this the first time any of us had to play matchmaker," Tenderheart said.
"Should we go back to Care-a-Lot?"
"That would be a good idea."
Tenderheart used his tummy symbol to make a cloud car appear. Then he and Love-a-Lot got in the cloud car and took off for Care-a-Lot.
