Chapter: Prologue

Haddonfield, Illinois; 1990

At the age of ten, Remedy Kane was a girl with dead straight milk chocolate color hair that just passed her shoulder blades, she had sea foam green eyes, and she had slight chubby cheeks. But what stuck out were her braces. The older kids would call her brace face or metal detector.

Last school year, she was the new kid. A new school year was beginning, and it was her second year of living in Haddonfield with her busy aunt, who was always on a business trip. With her aunt always away, a nanny was paid to come over and make sure Remedy was safe.

Remedy grew up with parents, but soon her mother left her father and then Remedy watched her father get deep into drinking. Soon, the neighbors took notice of how little Remedy did things on her own and did actions to take care of herself. The neighbors immediately called it in. Remedy was soon taken in by her father's sister.

When Remedy first came to Haddonfield, she felt out of place in this small town where everyone appeared to know each other. The neighborhood was where everyone knew each other and would do community events together. When it came to school, Remedy felt out of place. For her, it was hard coming to a new place and trying to make new friends.

The first few days of school during the lunch hours, she had sat by herself underneath a tree in the schoolyard with her usual PB&J sandwich, apple slices, and a small water. At the end of her first week of school, she got her first taste of being bullied by older kids.

It was three boy group, which was led by a teenage boy named Wesley Rhoades. Wesley thought it would be funny to shove her down on the ground and take her lunch away. Being new, Remedy kept her mouth shut and did nothing. She simply sat underneath a tree for the rest of lunch and hugged her legs to her chest.

It was then he had appeared and held out half of a PB&J sandwich toward her.

Michael Myers was ten years old and was in the same homeroom and classes she was in. He was bullied by Wesley too. After that particular day, Michael and she shared lunch with each other and stuck together in classes. They only stuck around with one another and not with other kids in their classes. Michael and she grew close, trusted one another and would share each other secrets.

School had been in session for a few months, and today was a big day. It was Halloween, but it was also Remedy's birthday.

Remedy stood outside of the Myers house, waiting for her best friend. Michael ran out of the house and toward her. His mother, Deborah stood in the doorway and waved at Remedy, who waved back with a smile.

Michael grabbed Remedy's hand and together they walked down the sidewalk toward school. Their school was only a few blocks away, so they walked instead of being brought to school by a bus.

"New mask?" Remedy asked softly as she stared at the orange papier-mache mask on Michael's face.

Michael gave her a nod as he stared at her with his light blue eyes. Remedy knew Michael always hid behind a mask, hiding his anger from those around him. A lot of his anger was formed due to his older sister and his mother's abusive boyfriend, Ronnie, who Remedy hated too. Michael never showed his rage toward Remedy. He had admitted he liked to be around her because she brought a comfort and relief feeling through him.

Before Michael and she were about to step around the corner to walk on the street where school was located, Michael stepped in front of her and held out a small wrapped box.

"Happy Birthday and Happy Halloween." Michael whispered, pushing his mask up on top of his head and giving her a small grin.

Remedy took the small wrapped gift from him, and quickly unwrapped it. She pulled the top off the box, and smiled as she pulled a handmade string bracelet out of the box. She knew it was a friendship bracelet. The design was a fish knot style, which was pretty tough to do.

"I made it into your two favorite colors." Michael pointed out.

The bracelet colors were black and teal. A smile came onto her lips, and with enough courage gathered up, Remedy leaned forward and pressed a gentle kiss against his cheek.

Her actions made Michael to fluster up and pulled his mask over his face to hide his emotions he felt for Remedy. Remedy continued to smile at him and held her left wrist out toward him with the bracelet.

Michael ties the bracelet around her left wrist before he stepped back. Together, they resumed their walk toward the school for another day.

The school day had been going smoothly when Remedy got word of Michael being suspended because he freaked out in the bathroom at Wesley. Remedy knew Wesley must had done something to make Michael snap.

For the rest of the school day, Remedy was called out of the classroom twice. Once by the teacher and the second time by the principal. The principal asked her questions about the whereabouts of Michael, since everyone in the school knew Michael and she were best friends. Remedy noted Deborah and an older man in the office.

"I don't know where he is."

The answer was not what they wanted to hear, and the principal waved at Remedy to go back to class. She saw the principal shake their head at Deborah and the man, which the principal called him Loomis.

That day, Remedy walked home alone. Her mind was filled with thoughts about the whereabouts of Michael. Instead of letting her curiosity bringing her to Michael's house, she walked straight home.

Remedy reheated last night dinner and ate that for dinner again. The whole time she could not stop her thoughts revolving around Michael.

What she did not know was the fact Michael had killed Wesley Rhoades in the woods. That Michael had beat Wesley to death with a tree branch and then left Wesley broken and dying in a pile of leaves.

Remedy did not know that tonight was the night Haddonfield would change, and the idea of Halloween.

Hi Everyone,

Since it is Halloween Night! I decided to make one of my favorite Horror movie fanfic story. HALLOWEEN!

I am basing it off the new Halloween movie series. The Zombie style. Though I will probably mixing in the original too since the originals are classic!

Many times I have written Halloween stories, but always erased them. If people read my author notes in my other stories before, you might've saw notes about me writing a lot of stories on my old laptop—which unfortunately has finally shit the bed so I lost everything I believe—and never posted anything.

Therefore, I decided to rewrite a new Halloween story!

I'm going to apologize now if I get any information wrong. So sorry ahead of time.

This first chapter is just a quick introduction to the main character and the next chapter will be a series of years going by with these two growing up and how things developed, such as how they are to one another.

Disclaimer for this chapter and the future chapters: I do not own anything about the Halloween Series. However, I do own my original character, Remedy and her aunt.

Enjoy!

Thank You!
