"I can't believe that case, it's not often that Brian messes up a case, it's usually you." Sandra said to Gerry as they got ready for bed.
"Oi, I'm not that bad." Gerry moaned only to be faced with an expression that replied for her, "Okay I am, who'd have thought it'd be Twitter that almost messed up a murder investigation?"
"To be fair it wasn't actually twitter, it was the person using it."
"Yeah I suppose, I don't understand the appeal of sites like twitter. I mean why would you want to tell strangers who decide to stalk you about everything you're doing." Gerry said as they got into bed.
"Not all people on the internet are stalkers, actually lots of people make friends for life or meet their future spouses on the internet."
"More fool them, they could be anyone."
"Only in rare cases do people lie anyway you don't have to tell them your life story, you can just make small talk. You're just a grumpy old police man."
"Oi, less of the grumpy thank you." Gerry said as Sandra's phone beeped. "Who wants you at this time of night?!"
"I don't know, if you hadn't noticed I have yet to check it." Sandra said as she rolled over to see in fact who'd contacted her.
"Well?"
"God you're nosey, anyway it was just an email regarding nectar points on eBay." Sandra lied.
"Really? Because Jack and I got that email about 2 this afternoon."
"Yes really."
"Prove it."
"I'll be downstairs where no one calls me a liar if you want to apologize." Sandra said as she crawled out of bed and made her way down the stairs.
She sat on the floor with her back against the sofa with her phone in her hand checking the actual cause of the beeping on her phone, twitter. When they'd be on surveillance earlier that evening before anything had happened and before she'd got properly annoyed with Brian, he'd talked her through twitter and told her how to work it. At the time she'd made all the right noises as if she wasn't at all bothered and was listening to be polite, but as much as she hated the idea of twitter before after Brian's tour it looked more than interesting.
Her profile looked more interesting by the second as she saw the alert was in fact another follower, making her total 24. She'd already written 6 tweets and was in the process of writing her 7th.
'Why are men so grumpy and nosey?! #justmypartner?'
He'd not expected her to sulk downstairs for long as he knew she was exhausted so when he found her asleep on the floor he wasn't exactly surprised. What did surprise him though, other than the fact that she was asleep on the floor despite the perfectly good sofa behind her, was that she'd fallen asleep with her phone in her hand. He was still incredibly curious about the earlier alert, so had she woken up that would have been his defense, knowing that she had no pass code he gently removed the phone from her hands and unlocked it only to find it opened straight to twitter and more specifically her last tweet.
"Oh Sandra, you're so busted." He laughed to himself.
