Author's Note: A sudden thought bumped into my poor brain at 2 in the evening and about half an hour later, this is born. I am my own beta, therefore please forgive any mistakes you can locate.
My first piece of writing after actually watching some of the episodes (though I did write a KakaIru before, I haven't seen any Naruto-related materials back then).
I am a Cantonese still learning English as my second language. Please excuse my poor usage of the language, I promise I am trying to strive to be better at it.

Team Seven's Jounin teacher is known as an expert of looking underneath the underneath.
To his students, this is pure non-sense, because the underneath he sees is always beyond them.
This day, as usual, the teacher in question is late again, hence the combination of the infamous chorus from the infamous fellows of pink and blond and the painfully joyous reply (with daily assorted flavors) from the infamous authority of laze.
"YOU'RE LATE!"
"Maa... You see, I was on my way, then some strayed kittens needed my help over the fence so I offered..."
"LIAR!"
To many, it is a lie. Because they don't know Hatake Kakashi. When he speaks, he expects you to look at things in his manner.
He is distracted, indeed, on his road of life by three strayed kittens; of which trying to climb higher by their sheer will and adding colorful chaos into his bumpy yet steady ninja life, day by day.
Day after day, the cycle continues.
"YOU'RE LATE!"
"Maa... You see, there's this tree I haven't paid close attention to for some time, so I stared when I saw how tall it's grown and forgot about the time..."
"LIAR!"
His visible eye curves up.
And so, the cycle goes on.
