On they flew through the gathering darkness; Harry's face felt stiff and cold, his legs numb from gripping the Thestrals sides so tightly, but he did not dare shift his position lest he slip… he was deaf from the thundering rush of air in his ears, and his mouth was dry and frozen from the cold night wind. He had lost all sense of how far they had come; all his faith was in the beast beneath him, still streaking purposefully through the night, barely flapping its wings as it sped ever onwards.
Suddenly, Harry lost his grip on the Thestral and went falling down to his death, the Thestral just kept going. The other's quickly followed him down, he was very close to the forest when Ron jumped off and caught him, sending them both tumbling down the trees into the forest below. The other's jumped off too as they didn't want to leave them behind.
As he fell he saw forest rushing up to meet him, the trees barely visible and filled with shadows. He closed his eyes and prepared to die. Bam, a body slammed into him. He opened his eyes. He and Ron were crashing down onto the ground below. He took his wand and aimed at the ground, "Spongify", he shouted, putting all his magic into it. He and Ron fell safely onto the ground, which was now as soft as cotton due to Harry's overpowered cushioning charm.
A few seconds later Neville, Hermione and Luna came down slowly. Someone must have cast a spell to make them fall slowly, Harry. The Thestrals had flown away, presumably to the Ministry. They all looked around at their surroundings. Strange trees grew all around them with glowing flowers, moving vines and other signs that the forest is magical.
"What now?", They all asked.
