She pressed a hand against the glass of the train window, and took a few deep breaths as it rained. This was it. She was leaving for good. No more art classes with Namine, no sleep-overs with Olette. No more annoying Hayner and joking around with Pence. It broke her heart to know that she would not longer be in any of their group photos to stick on her bedroom wall. Kairi was moving back to Destiny Islands after spending her whole summer in Twilight Town. Yes, it would be nice to see Sora and Riku again. But this summer had been different. Very different indeed.

This summer, she had fallen in love with a boy named Roxas.

He wasn't perfect. He didn't always show up on time perfectly. He didn't always have time to spend with her, seeing as he had gotten a summer job at post office for some extra cash, and he didn't bring her flowers.

But the time she did spend with him was perfect. She didn't want flowers. But she would give her life for just a few extra minutes to be with him.

Just a few minutes to say good bye.

Of course, they were still sending a hundered texts a minute to each other. It had been a few minutes since Roxas had text her until..

B-beep, b-beep!

From; Roxas at 12:46

hey, sorry i didn't text back, i was busy :) btw, how come youre on the train? you sed it didn't leave til like ten past 1,right? x

Kairi smiled at the sight of his name, then sighed. She missed him already, as cheesy as it sounded. She looked outside at the pouring rain, and smudged away some of the tears with the back of her hand.

To; Roxas at 12:48

hiya. yeah, i didn't want to face the goodbyes,

She paused before she sent the message. She had told them she wanted to take a walk to clear her head. How the hell did he know she was on the train? She looked down at the message and began typing.

how did you know i was on the train anyway? xx

Kairi pressed send, and eagerly awaited a reply. She sighed again, then turned to look out the window. 'People watching', as Pence called it, was a thing of hers. She loved to watch the world go by, in an attempt to stop her feelings over coming her. A pouty looking woman looked through her purse, then came aboard the train, whilst a fat man in a suit jumped off and looked at the time, then hurried off to find the right train. Another man with soaking clothes and hair was taking pictures of the train from different angles, then flicking through the shots, and a boy with a skate board was waving at her.

Kairi grabbed the sleeve of her jacket, and wiped the window furiously. She peered through the clear part of the glass, smacking her head in the process. The boy laughed at her, throwing his head back and showing his teeth. He waved again and smiled at her surprise.

What the hell was she doing sitting here?

She jumped up suddenly, and sprinted down the aisle, looking for the nearest door. Kairi pushed past the pouty looking woman and jumped the three steps, nearly slipping as she went.

Roxas, who had followed her in the pouring rain, was soaked from head to toe. He dropped his skate board, flicked the rain from his face and ran towards her, wrapping his arms tightly around her waist and hugging her as she sobbed quietly.

"No goodbye hug?" He laughed, still grinning.

"Look at you, you're soaking wet. So much for summer weather." Roxas laughed again, and pulled her even closer, if possible. "I wasn't ready to say goodbye." He whispered delicately, his breath tickling her ear and she smiled from ear to ear. Kairi looked up at him and the rain poured. There she was, in the soaking summer rain, face to face with her first love.

She leaned up as he closed his eyes, and his wet, warm lips met hers. Everything was perfect, and besides..

...there's, always next summer right?
