Little feet pitter-pattered on the cold, linoleum floor. "Momma?" The small, warbling voice came from the bathroom down the hall and Sookie stirred in bed. Groggily, she eyed the open slit of the door that the hallway night light streamed in through. When the little voice called out again, she sighed and rolled over in bed.

"Honey..." She nudged the man in bed beside her with her elbow. The man snorted and jerked awake. "Eh? Whatsit?" Sookie grinned at the the wild disarray of his strawberry blond hair. "Sam, Bree's stuck in the bathroom again," she softly whispered and Sam groaned and struggled upright in bed. "I'm on it," he mumbled and swung his legs over the edge of the bed.

Sam scratched his head as he hobbled towards the bathroom. They were potty training their daughter and she was so dedicated that she even got up in the middle of the night. The only problem was once she got to the bathroom, the shadows in the hallway scared her so much she couldn't make it back to her room. When Sam opened the bathroom door all the way, he found a strawberry blond toddler gripping a teddy bear to her chest for all she was worth, trying not to cry. "Bree?"

The little girl launched herself at his legs. "Daddy!" As soon as she was safe with her Daddy, fat tears started to roll down her cherub like cheeks. She didn't say anything as Sam grinned ruefully and ruffled her short blond curls. "Let's get you back to bed, Princess," he said and she nodded tearfully as he swung her up into his arms.

Sam playfully dropped her onto her small pink bed and she squealed. He quickly settled her into bed and tucked the covers tight around her up to her chin. Her small teddy bear's battered head poked out beside hers, a button eye dangling down. Bree's father leaned down and kissed her on the forehead, smiling from ear to ear as he drew back. "We're very proud of you and your potty training, Bree," he told her and she postively beamed. "Now go to sleep," Sam told her and gave her a warning look as he stood. She only nodded and immediately squeezed her eyes shut. He left the door ajar as he wandered back down the hall.

"Alright?" Sookie asked as Sam slid back into bed with her. He scooted across the bed so that he could spoon his wife and pressed a small kiss to the shell of her ear. "Never been better," he told her and settled in for sleep.

Just a teeny little thing, sort of a sneak peek of Sam and Sookie's life as new parents... Yeah, I know. SamxSookie, shocker! I just think they would be best for each other and I HAVE read all the books! It just sounds good to me so I write it sometimes. I think their daughter Bree is cute :)
