Caged
She had continued to draw out Sora's memories, his true ones before pausing mid-stroke. The room she was in was the same white, reminding her of her time in Castle Oblivion with the Organization and although she was doing the right thing now, things still felt the same.
Although I'm somewhere else, it's just a different cage…
She set down the crayon that was in her hand, before glancing around at the pictures that surrounded her. Most were of Sora and what had happened to him on his first journey, before he had come to Castle Oblivion, but some were of someone else.
Roxas…
She stared at the ones of the boy who was Sora's Nobody, who was currently trapped in the virtual Twilight Town. She felt a tightening in her chest and she put a hand up to where her heart would have been.
If I don't really have a heart, then how can I feel anything?
It was a question that she had asked herself many times, both when she was with the Organization and now that she was here, during her stay here. She however, found no answer to her silent question. She knew that she wouldn't get an answer from DiZ or even Sora's friend Riku. The boy only seemed to come around to ask how the progress was but she knew that it wasn't his fault.
DiZ is just telling him what to do as well… just like with what I am doing…
She had planned to put back Sora's memories right anyways so part of the action was her own but the other was the man's who had been keeping her here. She knew that this would take time, but with everything that had been happening, she hadn't expected it to take this long. She once again found herself glancing over at a picture with four figures on it. She knew who three of them were, but the fourth still eluded her.
There's Roxas, Axel, and Riku but who's the fourth?
She suspected that she knew the figure, with the only thing she remembering that she had made the figure a promise to look after Roxas.
But how can I do that from here?
She glanced down at the picture again, her hands tightening a bit on her lap. She knew what would happen to Roxas, and her eventually, but she still felt like it wasn't fair.
Not that life is fair… I shouldn't even exist and yet I do…
Another thing that DiZ constantly reminded her of, the fact that she shouldn't exist and that her ability was the only reason she was being allowed to. She was well aware of the fact that when Sora's memories were completely restored, that she would most likely cease to exist.
He won't even remember me…
She knew that she had told him that, but it still stung her a bit. She could still feel the warmth of his hand when he had made the promise to thank her after all this, his bright smile which still brought one to her own face. She glanced around at the pictures again before towards the locked door.
This place might be a cage, but I'm still going to fulfill my promise…
She set to drawing his memories again, her mind set to her task.
So I am fully aware that most people have probably done this idea already but this is more of a test for me to see how well I can write Naminé. I haven't actually tried writing anyone but Roxas with Xion and Axel, and Ven, Aqua, and Terra; not that any of those are posted yet… Please let me know what you thought and sorry if she is OOC at all!
