It was terrible. She let the case get under her skin and she had no way of getting it back out from underneath it.

A little girl, 2 years old.. brutally murdered. With her being 5 months pregnant of a girl, it hit a little too close to home. She had difficulties figuring out who did it, but when she found out it was the mom, she felt sick. She ran though the bullpen, into the restrooms, she entered a stall and threw up. How could a mother murder her little girl like that. No real mom would ever do that! When she rinsed her mouth she slid to the floor and folded her legs best she could with her baby bump. She lay her hand on her bump. "Nobody is ever gonna hurt you love. Mommy loves you very very much and I'm never going to let anyone hurt you, you're safe with me and daddy..." she whispered in a soothing tone.

When she looked up she saw Castle standing in the doorway, watching her talk to their child. He helped her up and wrapped her in his arms, giving her one of his bear-hugs. She loved it, she felt safe in his arms and it was very comforting. "Kate are you ok?", he asked after a while. That's when the tears started to fall. "Let it all out, I know you want to", he said. As if on cue, she started sobbing uncontrollably and she felt so ashamed for crying like a baby in the precinct restrooms, felt so vulnerable, she just didn't know how she could stop. 'Stupid hormones', she thought to herself. When the tears stopped and she felt well enough to speak again, she whispered softly "Rick, take me home please.." He didn't need to hear that twice. She never asked that before, this case hit really close to home. He let her clean up, get herself together a bit, before he took her hand and led her out of the restrooms, straight to her desk to grab her bag and coat. "Yo Beckett where you goin'?", asked Esposito. "Home",she said. Plain and simple. "Can you and Ryan do everything else on your own? I just need a bit of time to myself.." She said, sounding so small, Esposito's never heard her talk like that before, except for when Castle went missing. He decided to try and make her feel better "Beckett you know that you can always talk to us and we're here for you right?" he said. "Yes I know, thanks Javi.." she answered.

She put her coat on, grabbed her bag, lay her hand in Castle's and together they walked to the elevator.

As soon as the elevator doors closed before them, she hugged him once more. "Thank you Rick, for being my rock, for being you, for being so perfect, and thank you for our unborn baby. I will never let anyone hurt her..", she said softly. "I know Kate, Always." The elevator doors opened, she let go of hime and they went home. Together.

A/N: This is my first fanfiction ever so it's really short. Please tell me what you think though and should I continue or should I stop? Thanks for reading!
