Disclaimer: I do not own Lord of the Rings, Tolkien does, but I did write the poem

Summery: just talking about the Noldor (if you don't understand read the Silmarillion!!)

Elven Sorrow

The Elven-tears, like falling stars,

Reflect the sorrows of an Age,

The pathway home now is barred

A fading world has become a cage.

A group once ran over water and ice

To seek vengeance for their own

Their thoughts were filled with hate and vice

Only later did they discover what they had sown

Eternity in a dulling land

Till forgiveness was received

Was now the fate of the rebel band

And their loss they soon perceived

So now they sing of times long gone

In a place of silver and gold

Remembering the magnificent dawn,

In the beautiful land of old.
