Automatic

"Syuusuke…" Tezuka's hushed whispers had somehow calmed him down. It was like; Tezuka's voice has something in it that can manipulate the Fuji Syuusuke.

He believes. He believes at whatever Tezuka says. It's not like he wants to—sometimes he really doesn't—but Tezuka's voice hypnotizes him, automatically drawing the petite tensai into him.

"I'll come back. It's only a minor operation, nothing important to be fretted about," Tezuka rocked the sobbing tensai's head against his chest back and forth; back and forth, and until Fuji's sobs had magically turned into whimpers. "Things will get better. Mark my word with that."

And then the day after, Tezuka had taken off to Germany, leaving the blue-eyed brunette on his own.

Subject: Kunimitsu, I miss you~

Message:

Mou~ Mitsu! I miss you! How's your therapy going? Is your operation done? What's the result? I can't wait to see you again! Get well soon!

Fuji clicked the send button, looking outside the glass window of the café he was in, entertaining himself by looking at the people and cars passing. 'The only way to get Kunimitsu out of my head at least for a second.'

Indeed it is. Somehow, Fuji felt as if the unknown faces of the people outside could erase his worries of Tezuka, could erase Tezuka's face that always haunts him.

He blinked as a small 'clink' shattered his train of thoughts and he looked at his laptop, noting that he had received an e-mail from Tezuka.

Fuji frowned. Tezuka is supposed to be in bed right now. Nevertheless, he clicked to read the message.

Message:

Aa. I do too. The operation won't be until tomorrow morning. And I feel well. Don't let your guard down.

Fuji let a soft chuckle resound against his table. Typical. He believes that Tezuka is doing fine, because Tezuka had said so, and Fuji always believes him.

Always.

And then never.

Fuji has his eyes widen as he stared at the e-mail he'd just received few hours after he went to the café.

Subject: Mr. Syuusuke Fuji

Message:

I regret to inform you that Mr. Kunimitsu Tezuka has passed away this morning due to the failure of his operation. We wish our condolences.

And then Fuji had realized that he has been living in lies for long.

That there's no real love in Tezuka Kunimitsu.

For if there is, he wouldn't have let Fuji suffer in all of his lies.
