I felt so guilty for being the cause of mom's death. Not that I ever got to meet her. Dad had every right to call me useless and hit me when I didn't do exactly what he asked of me. My brothers had every right to leave. Cloud had every right to take Sora away to some place safe without me. They didn't need someone like me dragging them into it when it was my own fault. School had been my only reprieve from the self-hate I subjected myself to when I returned home. Not that the bullies at my school helped with that either. Sure I got the occasional shove into the lockers resulting in a permanent rainbow colored bruise on my shoulder. That I could deal with, nothing could compare to when…..when…god I can't even say it to myself. I decided not to dwell on those things anymore. Dad's in jail and I still have no idea where they went. Hopefully Radiant Gardens would reveal some answers to me. I was getting tired of moving to a different high school every year. This would be the last time, if I didn't find them here; I would give up for good. I sighed and made sure my hood was over my head and my black and white checkered back-pack rested solely on my right shoulder and walked quickly to the main office. Not that there were many kids here already at 6 a.m. 'Let's Go Dolphins!' Signs hung in multiple spots around the hallways leading up to the office. Double checking the sign to make sure I was at the right place, I pushed the door open to be greeted by pale blue walls and four cherry oak desks in each of the corners. Gulping harshly, I walked up to the brunette typing away on the keyboard and hummed softly.

"Um….Hello?" I asked timidly, not wanting to be louder than necessary.

"Oh i'm sorry! What can I help you with?" She had one of those smiles that instantly told you that you could trust her with anything.

"Oh um yeah, I turned in my forms on Saturday? I'm the new student. Roxas Strife."

"Lets see…S….S….ah! Here you are! Strife, Roxas, All honors classes, impressive." I could feel the heat flush my cheek and ears them a tomato color.

"Um, yeah that's me." She handed a printed copy of my schedule and a locker number and combo.

"Since you came late in the year you have to share a locker but don't worry I know the guy you're sharing a locker with and he's not all that bad."

"Really?" At least that was some comfort that my locker mate wasn't a complete ass-hat. "What's his name if you don't mind me asking?"

"Riku Shanston." I wondered what exactly this 'Riku' person looked like.

"Well thank you…."

"Tifa Lockheart"

"Well thank you Tifa. I'll see you around." She smiled one last time and nodded her head. She dived quickly back into her work. Glancing at my schedule I noticed I had Honors Chemistry first, Honors History/ Honors English in A/B schedule and then lunch. My last hour looked like it would end up being my favorite, A/B Honors Music and Honors Art. I felt the corners of my mouth turn upward and had to scowl to myself internally. Not matter what I did; it still took me at least five minutes to contort my face back into the usual expressionless façade. I headed towards my first class room 1308 and opened the door.
