Home for Christmas

A year after the journey for Sakura's feathers, Kurogane returns to Japan. In fact, all of them return to their own worlds, and by this time, Sakura has recovered all the fragments of her memory.

It was December 23rd. The people were very busy with their last minute Christmas shopping. Kurogane was alone, walking down the street on his way to a shop to buy some bread. He watched the people as they passed by, all with their heavy bags full of presents. Seeing all these people busy preparing for Christmas made him feel lonely. As he continued walking, he looked up at the sky and saw snowflakes fall. Yup, it started to snow. He could see his breath as he sighed. Then he suddenly had flashbacks about their journey, and he remembered Fai.

Ah, yes. He missed Fai. He missed those times that he would yell and chase him because he poked his face or called him Kuro-tan or Kuro-chi. Yes, he missed the names Fai called him, and he certainly missed his cooking. But he couldn't believe that he did. After all, he's usually annoying him and getting his attention. But why do thoughts about Fai keep popping into his head? Does this mean that he has some "special feelings" for his friend?

He was lost in his thoughts about Fai. In fact, he was so lost that he didn't notice a lamp post in front of him and bumped into it. He lost his balance and fell on the floor. He shook his head, trying to get out of his trance and stood up and continued walking.

As he reached the bakery, he entered and bought a loaf of bread and some rolls. When he left the shop, he noticed a poor, little boy looking from outside the shop through the window. He felt sorry for the kid so he approached him and handed him a roll. The boy accepted it. He then noticed that the boy looked a lot like Fai, except for the boy's hair which was a dark, chocolate brown. The boy then said thank you, and Kurogane left.

Just as he got home, he noticed that the door to his house has been slightly opened. This gave him the idea that there might be a thief that had entered his house. He slowly entered the house and put his bag of bread down on the floor and drew his sword. He slowly crept into his room and suddenly pushed open the door. His eyes widened at what he saw in his room and dropped his sword. To his surprise, he found Fai leaning against the wall near the window.

"W-When…?" Kurogane stammered.

"Ya--ho, Kuro-pi… I'm home for Christmas…"
