This is a two-shot I decided to write while I'm finishing "Caught In A Bad Romance". This is slightly a return of mine to the dark side!
Also, after this is all said and done, I want to write a few nice Chloe stories. Would anyone else like to see that?
Marinette walked into her final class that Thursday not really expecting anything out of the ordinary. She sat down next to Alya, and took out her book, and waited for Mme. Bustier to return from wherever she was at the moment. She had a good feeling, for whatever reason. Also a bad feeling. But she was pretty sure the good feeling was correct as Adrien turned to face her.
"Hey Marinette!" he said happily.
"H-Hi Adrien!" Marinette said, still stuttering. She was still trying to work on that.
"I was wondering... Uh... Would you like to, maybe, go see a movie this weekend?" he asked. Marinette felt her heart almost stop.
"Uh... YEAH!" she blurted.
"Great!" said Adrien. "Its always nice to have a great friend like you."
"Did Adrien just call her... A great friend?! Oh, we are so getting married," Marinette thought. Her mind flew elsewhere... for two seconds. Before a hand slamming her desk pulled her out of her thoughts.
"Why did YOU ask MY Adrikins to a movie?!" Chloe yelled.
"Calm down Chloe, I asked her," said Adrien.
"That's not how I heard it!" Chloe snapped. "Listen here Maritrash. You are nothing. Worthless, stupid, pathetic, and every other horrible word in existence! Your friends don't love you! Your parents don't love you! NO ONE LOVES YOU! YOU ARE WORTHLESS NEXT TO ME!"
Marinette wouldn't have normally taken Chloe's words like she did now. A day that her family wanted to spend with her, a day Alya and her had some bestie-bonding time, and a day where Chloe had kept her damn mouth shut. Until now. She felt tears prick the corners of her eyes as she looked down at her pink shoes. Chloe swung at her face with her fist, but luckily missed. She had officially had enough. She stormed out of the classroom, sobbing loudly.
"Marinette!" Adrien yelled. "I'll deal with you later Chloe."
"I'm coming with," said Alya. "No one let Chloe leave."
Everyone nodded, and Adrien led Alya out of the classroom to begin their hot pursuit after Marinette. Everyone turned to face Chloe.
"What?!" Chloe spat rudely. "It was only the truth, gosh."
"It was verbal harassment!" Juleka shouted.
Suddenly, Mme. Bustier came back into the room with a mad look on her face.
"Who caused Marinette to run down the hallway and cry her eyes out?" she snapped. Everyone pointed at the obvious rich bitch.
"Come with me Chloe," the teacher hissed.
"I'll call my daddy!" Chloe threatened.
"And I don't give a shit," Mme. Bustier said. "Hell, I would be happy to tangle with him and give him a piece of my mind. L'Armand also has some unfinished beef, so bring it."
Everyone stepped back, and Chloe visibly winced. "Come with me, NOW."
Chloe followed, albeit unwillingly, to the principle's office. Everyone feared what would happen if they so much as looked at their teacher the wrong way now.
But a question remained in all their minds: Was Marinette about to be akumatized?
Their answer would come quicker than expected.
Marinette didn't bother to answer her parent's questions to why she was back so early, or why she returned a sobbing heap. All she did was go to her room, shut the hatch, and sob uncontrollably as she held her Chat Noir doll close. Tikki zipped out of her purse, but made no move to near her. However, Marinette's head moved up from her knees when she heard Tikki scream.
"Take off the earrings!" Tikki yelled. "AKUMA!"
Marinette quickly removed the earrings, and threw them onto her desk. And then, she thought she was safe...
Until the akuma entered her Chat Noir doll.
"Kitty Noir, I am Hawk Moth."
"GET OUT OF MY HEAD!" cried Marinette, clutching her forehead and fighting back fresh tears.
"Listen girl. You truly are nothing special, and Chloe is right on that... but I can make you feel better."
"You ruin lives DAILY!" yelled Marinette, who could faintly hear footsteps coming up her stairs. "I will NEVER join you!"
"How about if I give you the powers of your favorite superhero, Chat Noir? And that power to test his 'Cataclysm!' on Chloe?"
Marinette thought for a long, solid moment. There was a part of her that adored Chat Noir that never would be told to him directly (cause God forbid, the puns would never end), and that she loved Adrien, Chat was like a brother... and Chloe's destruction sounded appropriate for a monster like her.
"I'll do it," growled Marinette.
"Perfect... And get me the Ladybug and Chat Noir Miraculous before you're done."
"Yeah, yeah, yeah," Marinette said. Faintly, she could see her parents open the hatch door to her room, but they then screamed when they saw the purple and black mist surround her. After she was let loose from the smoke, she wore the same black spandex that Chat Noir had, but her boots were high heeled, they eye covers were blue, and her hair was now down.
"Sorry about coming home early," hissed Marinette. "It'll never happen again... I purr-omise."
Then, she jumped out of the sunroof hatch, and leaped off into God-knows-where. She was heading back towards the school, to finish things with Chloe.
"I thought it was impossible, Tikki!" Sabine said to the kwami.
"It takes a lot, but it isn't impossible," Tikki said. "It can happen to everybody countless times, but only once to Miraculous holders. But..."
"But what?" Tom asked.
"But they are usually about ten times stronger than the average akuma," Tikki said. "And poor Marinette will remember everything, but not have any power in her akuma form."
"I feel so bad for her, but what happened?" Sabine asked to no one in particular.
"Chloe got on to her for agreeing to go to the movies with Adrien," Alya said, popping up from the hatch with Adrien only a few steps behind.
"And it's my fault," said Adrien from the steps. "I knew it was a bad idea, but I did it. I'm a total-"
As he entered the girl's room, he suddenly stopped. What the heck was that weird red thing floating next to Sabine?
"Is that a kwami?" Adrien asked. Alya's attention now averted to the red blob as well.
"Yes, I am Tikki," said Tikki. "I am what transforms Marinette into Ladybug."
Adrien and Alya nearly fainted. Then, they realized how stupid they were to not have realized it sooner. The fact that Marinette was always leaving or going to the bathroom almost precisely as an akuma showed up, and then she came back tired and even in pain. It all made too much sense... but something didn't click in Alya's mind.
"Wait just a minute..." she muttered, tapping her chin. "So does that mean..."
Suddenly, a black blob that vaguely resembled a cat flew next to Tikki.
"Sup," the cat-like creature said. "Y'all probably figured it out, so let me put it in simple words: Adrien is Chat Noir."
"Adrien..." Alya whispered.
"Yeah, I'm Chat Noir," he said. "And you have no idea how badly I wanted to tell you, Marinette, Nino, everyone... but I couldn't risk it. If one of you got akumatized, God knows what Hawk Moth could do. But he's taken Marinette. I don't count on letting him get away."
"We'll let you two talk it over," Tom said.
"Please, bring her back," Sabine pleaded.
"We will, don't worry," said Adrien. "We'll all return in one piece."
The adults nodded, and exited Marinette's room. Adrien and Alya just stood there in silence before beginning to talk.
"So, want me to take the ladybug Miraculous?" asked Alya.
"Alya, I-I'm sorry, but I need to take it," said Adrien. "It's my fault Mari got akumatized, and it's only fair that I rectify the akuma. I can never take my actions back, but I can try to help rebuild."
"So... want me to take the cat Miraculous?" Alya asked.
"Well, I don't plan on going in solo," he said. "This is going to be tough. I know she won't be as stupid as a normal akuma."
"Yeah, go figure," Alya muttered.
"So, uh, Tikki?" Adrien started, "Can I just, maybe, pin the earrings to my jeans or something?"
"Sure!" said Tikki. "A few guys I was with did that too."
"And I just use the ring?" Alya asked.
"Yeah," Plagg replied. "It's 'CLAWS OUT!'."
"Okay then," said Alya, slipping on the ring. "PLAGG, CLAWS OUT!"
"WAAAAAIIIIT!" Whatever else Plagg was going to scream was drowned out by the ring sucking him in, and Alya closed her eyes as she felt the tight spandex encase her. She felt a small weight where her belt was, and assumed it was just her bo staff. She felt something tight magically slide over her face, and automatically assumed it to be her mask.
But when she opened her eyes...
Her world was purple.
"Wait, huh?" she said, looking down at her hips. They were slightly curved to match her waist, and her boot heels were higher than Adrien's. Her suit was a solid white color, matching the clouds that would appear over Paris on a sunny day. Her cat ears matched this color, but were pretty much the same in every other way.
"I could swear the suit wasn't like this," Alya said, observing everything about her.
"The suit will change based on a female or male wearer," said Tikki.
"Well, let's see how different it is for me," Adrien said. "Tikki, SPOTS ON!"
Then, Tikki was sucked into the earrings placed on Adrien's jeans, and he felt tight spandex come over his body.
He looked down when the transformation was complete, and saw that he had a maroon color to his suit rather than bright red, but it still retained the black polka dots.
"Pretty nice," he muttered. "Does it make my ass look big?"
Alya nearly cackled her brains out.
"As much as I would love to stand here and find out," Alya commented, "we've gotta save the gal who has saved us god-knows how many times."
"True that," said Adrien. "We better get moving."
But before they jumped out the window, Adrien had a small question.
"Were you being serious? About my ass?"
"Hell no. I have a boyfriend."
The two laughed until it hurt.
Madame Bustier was currently leading Chloe down the long-ass hallway path to the principal's office.
The only sound that could be heard were the teacher's heels tapping on the floor as she walked with Paris' most spoiled brat in tow.
Well, up until a low cat snarl was heard.
"What was that?!" Chloe shrieked.
"What was what?" Madame Bustier asked.
Suddenly, Kitty Noir walked around a corner, her bo staff dragging against the floor.
"Well, seems that you've yet to receive proper treatment, Chloe," Kitty Noir hissed. "Mind if I deliver it to ya?"
Chloe froze in horror.
"Guess that's a yes," Kitty Noir hissed.
She then lunged at Chloe, and grabbed her by her foot, before jumping out of a nearby window.
But unbeknownst to the akumatized Marinette...
Redbug and Chaton Blanc were on her tail.
Yep, this is a two shot. Sorry!
Also, if anyone wants to know, "Caught In A Bad Romance" will be finished soon. I can't necessarily guarantee when, but as soon as I can.
See ya guys next chapter! :)
