It's dark…too dark.

It's barely night time yet the place is as dark a cave, it scares me that it's even possible; we are, after all, only in our school.

It had been my idea to stay behind after school to check the place out after Shannon's brother Kenny hadn't turned up for his date with Ashley last night and hadn't come home either.

I figured, being the school reporter, that it would be a good idea for my first real investigation; how wrong I was. It was definitely not good I realised, even if it was originally my idea to stay after school so we could look for Kenny. We'd gone upstairs, after a whole night of searching for Kenny and suddenly we realised we'd gotten ourselves stuck in the middle of something horrible.

Shannon and I were attacked by some strange creature which looked like a pair of legs with a mouth…made out a ribcage. Luckily for us, our biology teacher, Mr Walden found us and smashed open the window, letting in the early morning light, the creature disintegrating with a horrible screech. Mr Walden told us the creatures, whatever they are cannot survive in the light and that we should find Mr Friedman, the school principal, and ask him about Kenny.

I gave Shannon the baseball bat I'd found when we were first locked in the school and picked up the metal bar Mr Walden had dropped before rushing off to unlock the front door, he looked as if the creature had hurt his arm…

The two of us went back down to the main courtyard where Ashley was waiting for us, Shannon nervously brushed her hair back as she paced while Ashley unsuccessfully tried to call the police. As she tried calling, we found her phone had no connection and my camera I'd filmed the search so far with suddenly died.

Our friend was missing, we had no connection and now there were monsters roaming our school…

Later on we'd run into our friend Stan, he's the typical rebellious teenager; bad grades, skips class and is capable of picking locks, which has come in handy here. We found him in a classroom, trying to hack into the computers to change his failing grades. He didn't believe us when we mentioned the monsters and accused us of being on drugs, until we ran into more monsters.
