A/N: Sorry this is a little late. Mine will almost always be a few hours late. I usually work Sunday nights so I'll have to wait until after work to post. Word: spent. Two drabbles for two points of view. Oh, and big thanks to Onyx for the yummy extra bonus with the challenge word!
Disclaimer: Don't own them. Never will. Not until they make action figures. Wonder if they'll ever make action figures of the Boys? That'd be awesome.
It was supposed to be reconnaissance only. They weren't expecting action in daylight. The spirit had other ideas. She manifested moments after they stepped inside. Dean screamed a warning and ducked. Sam was focused elsewhere.
He saw the mantel clock seconds before it connected, heard his brother scream his name, and tried to clear his head and get up. He knew they weren't equipped to dispense with the spirit.
Sam ignored the spots in his vision and searched his duffel for the salt. He got half a circle before it was spent, called out for his brother, and passed out.
Dean saw the clock coming, warned his brother and ducked. Too bad Sammy wasn't as quick. The spirit was determined to decorate them to death. He was too slow to avoid the marble tabletop.
He turned to tell Sam they needed to get out, only to find him unconscious in half a salt circle. Good job Sammy. A defensible position. Loading the shotgun, he tried to stay awake, tried protect his little brother.
The shells spent, darkness creeping into his vision, he feared when they couldn't defend themselves. Sorry, Dad. Looks like we screwed up big this time. Sorry, Sammy.
