Title: Mulder and Scully's Final Soliloquy
Author: M & S Shipper
Rating: PG
Summary: The end of the x files in the tradition of a Shakespearean tragedy. Firstly through the eyes of Scully, then later Mulder.
Disclaimer: I don't actually own the x files or Shakespeare – who would have guessed? You may notice some Shakespearean quotes altered to fit in.
Thanks: To my beta reader – Jewelblue3.
Note: I am not Shakespeare and do not claim to be. Just got this silly idea one afternoon.

Part 1: Scully
The rancid
seeds of corruption breed all those around me. Nipping jaws at heel, but one
step behind, Always, constant. The rank underbelly of our state. Protected in
their traitorous exploits.
Though ensnarement I have evaded countless times, those whom I love hath not
been so favoured. All lights extinguished before their time.
The one who keeps my heart, Mulder. My guiding light. Truth and justice in a
living form. One whom without I cannot live. Taken. My world an abyss of
absence. My heart cleft in twain. Bleeding unstoppable.
O, harsh fate then struck once more. William, dead and gone. My cursed life
outliving his. My light all but extinguished with his passing.
I start to consider sleep eternal. Ah me. To sleep, yes to sleep perchance to
dream. Aye there's the rub, for in those dreams come nightmares so strong I would
truly end in hell eternal.
The promise of rest entices us with it's boundless reach. Uncertainty my friend
or foe, now faith has withered.
Thy gun is strong. Cold steel uncaring, unrelenting; it's promise evident in my
hand. By chance it points toward my face. My decision is made.
Come forth eternity,I welcome relief the relief of darkness. Eternal rest.

Look out for Part 2 – if I don't get flamed to badly – Mulder's final act.
