Shock
"Mark, Ash is going to kill you," Jade warned him as they sat next to each other waiting for Ash to come to see them. Rowan and Kestrel had gone out hunting which meant that Jade and Mark had to deal with Ash on their own.
They had asked him to come back for a couple of days so they could speak to him. Mark kissed Jade's head when she leaned against him.
"It'll be ok Jade," he promised, holding her close against him. It had been a few years since Mark had met Jade and her family and they had felt a connection between them straight away.
Ash then left for a year to sort some stuff out but he'd come back for Mary-Lynette. Then they had gone away for a couple of months so Ash and Mary-Lynette could spend some time alone together.
Since then they were living near Harvard where Mary-Lynette was attending collage to study. They had arguments sometimes but always forgave each other 5 minutes after the fights. The girls found that really cute and Mark thought it was funny. The door opened quietly and Ash walked in. jade stood up and ran to give him a hug.
"Hey sis," he smiled, giving her a hug.
"Hi, where's Mary-Lynette?" she asked as she walked back and sat down next to Mark. Ash sat in the chair across from them.
"She's gone to see her dad," he told them, watching them both. "So what did you want to tell me?" he asked, getting straight to the point. Ash could tell it was something big by the way Mark seemed nervous. Jade did too.
"Well… Mark asked me to marry him, and I said yes," she said, watching her brother's face. Ash did something that surprised both Jade and mark, he smiled. "You're not mad?" Jade asked him, wearily watching her brother.
"No, because I asked Mary-Lynette to marry me last week and she said yes," he told them. Ash grinned and walked out the house, leaving Jade and mark sitting there shocked as he went to pick his future wife from her dad's where she'd gone to tell him about his proposal.
