Lily
He's doing it again.
James Potter, as the huge git he is, is rapping his quill against his desk for the third time this class period.
Not that I was watching. Or counting.
Great, now he's doing it again.
Won't he ever quit?! That thing is going to snap, I know it is.
…
James
Shoot! My quill broke! I thought, Better ask Moony for another one.
"Moony?" I asked, putting on my best puppy dog face, "Can you lend me a quill?"
Remus rolled his eyes and sighed. "This is the fourth time this week, James."
"But I'll give it back!" I whined.
"Of course, just like you gave it back the other three times," said Remus sarcastically.
"Well…" I replied, unsure of what to say. The other three times… could have been better.
The first time I borrowed a quill, I had forgotten it was Remus' and had let Sirius borrow it, who had broken it after an hour.
The second time around, I had broken it myself after putting it in my pocket before a quidditch match.
The third and most recent time, I had put it in my coat before I got into a fight with Snape, and he had snapped it.
"But I really need it, Moony," I begged.
"James, really. You need to stop that habit."
"Moony. Just give Prongs a quill and shut up." Sirius rolled his eyes, cutting into the conversation.
"Fine. This conversation isn't over, by the way." Remus pulled a quill out of his bag and set it down in front of me. "Don't break it this time, Prongs. These can cost galleons, you know."
"I know, I know. Now shut up. I don't want a detention during quidditch practice."

I thought Remus would stop Potter from making that infuriating noise, but apparently not.
Great.
"Potter!" I hissed.
He turned his head.
"Lily!"
I snatched the quill from his hand.
"Shut up with the quill. It's been what, five times this class period?"
"Lily! I didn't know you cared! You were watching me the entire time, weren't you?" He waggled his eyebrows.
"I mean it. Now stop."
"But Liiiily," he whined.
"But what, Potter?"
He muttered something I couldn't hear in response.
"Let me ask you again. But what, Potter?!"
"It's nothing. Just give me my quill back, please?"
I realized I was still holding his quill and quickly tossed it onto his desk, blushing.

I watched as Lily sat down next to Marlene McKinnon and Alice Fortescue, her fiery hair swinging as she moved.
"It's been two hours since you started grinning like an idiot, Prongs. What the hell is it?" Sirius followed my gaze and caught Lily chatting animatedly with her friends.
"Evans? Again? Prongs, you have to get over her. She hates you. Doesn't she, Moony? Wormtail?" Sirius turned to Remus and Peter.
"As much as I hate to agree with him, Prongs, but she doesn't seem like your biggest fan at the moment," said Remus.
Sirius harrumphed triumphantly while I groaned.
"I need to win her over next year. I need to." I said.
Silence from the rest of the marauders.
"It's seventh year. The last year. If I don't win her over next year, Lily'll graduate and get married to some guy." I explained.
"Oh," Peter said simply in response.
"Prongs, that's next year. Do you know how much time you have until then?"

"Lil, Potter's staring at you again," Marlene whispered.
Marlene McKinnon, who Alice and I had nicknamed Lena, was one of my best friends. She was decently tall- Well, at least she was taller than me with her 5'7 height. In my opinion, her hair was thick and beautiful, especially since it was paired with a natural blonde color.
I looked up and caught his eye from a few seats down. He quickly turned his head away, his face bright scarlet. I smiled.
He's better when he's not the arrogant toe rag he usually is, I thought, He almost looks cute, blushing like that.
I snapped out of my thoughts. Was I just thinking that Potter was cute? I curled my face up in disgust and disbelief at myself.
"He was really sweet today. He took me on a picnic for lunch and decorated the tablecloth with sunflowers. He remembered they were my favorite!" Alice turned to Marlene, grinning.
Alice Fortescue, a sweet girl who sported dirty blonde curls and stunning green eyes, was one of our best friends. She was amicable and caring, making her a great candidate for the position of Head Girl in the future.
Everyone knew that Alice Fortescue and Frank Longbottom were madly in love and had been going out since the beginning of this year.
I sighed and put a forkful of roasted turkey into my mouth, chewing as I thought.
My head was too full of thoughts and I couldn't think properly, so in the end, I decided to just head up to my dormitory.
"Pythonissam." I watched as the Fat Lady made way for me to step into the Gryffindor common room.
I walked up the stairs to the girls' dormitories and sighed as I plopped onto my bed.
My mind was full of thoughts, and I groaned in frustration as my struggle to fall asleep did not cease.
But eventually, eventually, I shut my eyes, my mind drifted off into dreams, and all of the thoughts that had been overflowing my head easily floated away.
