1: Silver, Red, and Black, Chapter I (A RWBY fanfic)
Time: 1:00 A.M. Autumn.
Andrew Hellsing woke to the sound of rain, tapping against his window, Unable to sleep, He pulled a crossbow, 2 hunting daggers and quiver of arrows from a small mantelpiece in his room and after slinging the quiver across his back, primed the crossbow, He just needed to clear his head and shoot SOMETHING. Grabbing a pair of boots and pulling on socks, Andrew slipped out of the house.
After walking for close to an hour of walking and killing Grimm, Andrew noticed the bird following around 4-5 meters behind him. After 2, he began to get annoyed, after 2 and a half, Andrew spun and fired toward the tree he knew the bird had to be sitting at. He had no actual intention to kill it, simply shake the tree in order to frighten it off.
When Andrew turned back to the bird, it was staring at him intently, head tilted ever so slightly sideways. Never breaking eye contact with the bird, he noted with apprehension and a small amount of fear that the bird's eyes were red, though the fear subsided when he realized the bird's a slightly darker red than the usual Grimm's.
It didn't work.
Sighing, He turned back, and began walking away. With a shriek, the bird flew ahead of him. Stumbling and falling he spat, "Stupid bir-" He stopped in awe, watching the avian change into a man. An old story popped into his head. A story of the Branwen twins, who were changed via magic. Raven and. "Holy crap," Andrew breathed, "You're Qrow Branwen," The man, Qrow, turned to him. Oh, sorry kid, you
good." "I'm fine." "Alright, let's get you home, kid..." Qrow paused, then mouthed "Don't. Move." rolling his eyes upward, Andrew saw a Beowolf stalk towards Qrow.
Qrow slipped Harbinger out of his cloak, gave a small prayer to God to keep the kid safe, and lunged at the Grimm with a yell. The Grimm roared and slashed at the Huntsman, which he dodged, changed Harbinger to its shotgun form and fired 3 to 4 rounds into the beast's flank.
The Beowolf groaned in pain, fell and collapsed into dust. Qrow sighed, surprised at the small amount of exertion, Beowolves shouldn't be so easy to kill, and he wasn't so cocky to say he was THAT good at his job.
{What are you planning Salem,} Qrow thought.
Snapping out of his daze, Qrow spoke quietly, "You alright, kid." "Yeah, I'm fine, that was some awesome fighting," "Not really," Qrow responded, "Honestly, it was pretty basic." "Really? To me, it didn't seem basic." Andrew replied, "Well do you know how to fight hand-to-hand or dodge well?" Qrow asked, not meaning to be as harsh as he seemed, especially with the meek "No." that the kid responded with "Alright, right now, seeing as it's around 3:30 now, I should get you home. I know we just met, but if you'd like, I'll be in the area a few days, in the city so I could teach ya some hand-to-hand combat." Qrow said, long-winded as they walked back, "Thanks a ton. If I see ya around, I'll hold ya to that." "Nice, it's a deal, then." "Bye, Qrow," Andrew called, "See ya 'round, kid," Qrow replied, walking into the woods again as Andrew walked inside, though instead of walking further, Qrow shifted into his corvid form and flew up to one of the trees overlooking Andrew's house.
{Good luck, kid, I'll keep an eye on ya}
