"Syaoran! Come back here!" Heavy footsteps resonated in the stillness of the night, the cool air hitting the small delicate face of an eleven year old child drying the tears cascading down his cheeks.
The young brunette just ran harder, faster, wanting to get away from it all, away from a life he couldn't even decide on his own.
The shouting became fainter and fainter as he gained space between his mother and himself. He didn't know where he was going. He was merely following his feet to where ever they led him.
After feeling as if he had ran for hours he came to a stop to catch his breath. The world spun beneath him and had to close his eyes in order to ward off the bile forming from the exertion. His legs were aching, his lungs were screaming in utter pain, causing haggard intakes of air.
He was never going back and he knew they would eventually end their search of him, finding a new prospect for his absence. As his breathing slowly came to its regular form, he stood straight from his half bent position and turned around to face what he was leaving behind.

There was no time to stop in such a corporate town, no time to catch his breath and enjoy the small simplicities of his childhood.
As he stared on into the blinding luminosity, he couldn't help but smile. Despite everything he would lose, he would be free. Life was not made to be wasted. One worked to live, not lived to work. A gush of air lifted a few strands of his face, a new resolve enveloping his features as he lifted his face to the sky, closed his eyes and let the wind carry his enthrallment away.
