Disclaimer: I don't own any characters from The Simpsons.
Definitely an AU.
My dear family,
I'll miss you.
Homer, please read the right parts to the children, but don't let them read the letter. And leave it in a good place so they can't find it.
Lisa, always remember that you can do whatever you want if you put your mind to it, I know you can. Never give up.
Bart, my special little guy . Deep down, you have a heart of gold. You just need to learn to show it. I know you can.
Maggie, I'll never get to know my little girl. Even though you never talked, you always seemed intelligent. You always seemed to care about your family.
Homer, you need to listen to people. Part of the reason I'm doing this is because recently you didn't seem to care. You got me to get you beers, make you dinner, loads of things, but you never said thank you. You used to make me happy, but it doesn't work anymore. You don't make me feel special, you don't talk to me, you never even kiss me goodbye when you go to work, or goodnight when you go to sleep. I'm sure you'll make someone else happy like you used to for me.
I love you all so much. I can't tell you where I'm going. Kids, I'm so sorry. I can't stay here. It's better that I leave. It's been bad before with me and your father, and we always worked through it, but this time, it can't be fixed.
I love you all so much, remember that,
Marge Simpson.
Marge was about to leave the note on the coffee table in the living room, but was disturbed.
"Good morning Mom." Lisa came downstairs.
"Good morning Lisa." Marge quickly-once again- put the letter in her pocket.
'Well, maybe this wasn't the right time either.' She thought, as she went upstairs to put the letter back in the little box in her wardrobe, where it had been for the last couple of months, being taken out every so often, but always being put back.
'Thank god I stopped her again.' Lisa thought, as she saw the suitcase standing by the door, as it had two weeks before, and a week before that too. There were other times as well, but Lisa stopped her mother from leaving each time.
She decided it was best to stay downstairs, so that her mother couldn't try to leave again, at least without telling her why. Although, she didn't think Marge would tell her, because it never worked the other times. How would this time be any different?
