Disorder in the House

Episode Two

As quickly as he showed up, he was gone. This stranger had caught them off guard, as they weren't expecting a lone assailant. He'd hit them hard, and was gone even faster. As Gatchaman got to his feet, he surveyed the situation, and realized something was wrong. He saw Ryu's lifless body heaped on the ground in a pool of blood, and a cold chill ran through his veins...

They got to us this time...

Gatchaman searched around frantically, hoping this wasn't true. Ryu couldn't be dead. Not like this. And Ken hadn't even gotten a good look at who attacked them.

I'm never gonna live this down.

Gatchaman had been so wrapped up in his own thoughts, that he hadn't heard the baleful woes of Jinpei and Jun, as she sat there holding Ryu's body...

The Condor stood there, his right fist clenched in front of him. Everything about him at this moment was pure rage. Gatchaman fell to his knees at Ryu's feet, looking into his brother's eyes. He had betrayed Ryu. His brother. By allowing Ryu to die, he had failed in his duty to protect his team.

The Condor stood there, watching his leader sob at the feet of thier fallen commrade. He was the only one not in tears. It wasn't that he didn't care for Ryu, but someone had to keep their wits about them. For now all that consumed his mind was anger, and revenge. How could a Gallacter get that close to them without them knowing? But this guy wasn't your run-of the-mill Gallacter goon. This guy was good enough to sneak up on the Science Ninja Team, take one of them out, and hit the rest before they knew it. This guy was trained, and there was one thought he just couldn't shrug off...

This guy fights like WE do... The way he lept around... and the way he vanished... those were Kagaku Ninpo techniques...

Gallacter had made it personal this time. Here the Condor stood, his team in shambles. No one was in any condition to talk, or even look at each other. I was as if they were all in shock. How would they tell Hakase? The Condor raised his wrist, and spoke softly into his bracelet...

"Nanbu Hakse... This is G-2 Condor, with a report..."

Dr. Nanbu stood in front of the window, and looked at the city sprawled beneath him. He took a long breath, and stood there, as if he were waiting for me to say something.

"I truly apologize for this," he said slowly, methodicaly. "I never intended to call you into active duty, Even when I began your training. But it appears I have no choice now."

"But why do I gotta wear this stupid mask under my birdstyle?"

"It's a security measure. They must not know who you are yet. They don't know about Bravo Squadron, and if they ever found out, thier morale, not to mention their faith in me, would be shattered."

"You want me to shadow them?"

"Yes. Do not make your presence known to them. You will not engage them by any means. You will stay hidden, and only come to assist them when I tell you to. It is imperitave that you follow my orders to the letter. You may leave now, G-5, Kestrel."

"Yes, Sir."

I get up, and change back into my civillian clothes. I make my way across the Doctor's office, his back still turned to me. A smile crosses my face as I open the door. I head down to the parking garage, and unlock my DeLorean. (Yeah I got a DeLorean. You wanna make somethin of it?!?!? It's vintage, man... Almost 75 years old. You can't beat that with a stick!!!) I hop in, and start the engine.

I finally get to meet you face to face, Gatchaman...

I see them now.

I have them in my sights.

I have trained my whole life for this day.

I will not fail.

This is my time.
